I've have a couple of TVR's in the past - a 96 Chimeara 400, and more recently a 4.3 Griff. The steering on the first car was a bit lacking in feedback. On the 2nd, the clutch was *really* heavy, as was the gearchange, the steering. But once running, the steering lightened up and had plenty of feel. Both cars were the height of relieability and never let me down.

Since seeing the T350 at its launch at the Motorshow a few years ago, I've been pining after one. Now that used prices are within budget, I don't know what to do.

I've heard horror stories of the reliability of the speed six. Can anyone put my mind at ease? ..or put me off?

I can't put your mind at rest with regards to the Speed Six, but the newer cars' engines seem much better. So far.

Just get a warranty and enjoy while you can. You might get run over by a bus tomorrow.

Have you driven one yet?

No, haven't driven one. Daren't. I know what will happen. I'll buy one.

I'll have to go, but leave my wallet at home.

How do they drive? I've had a few Elise's (got one now), and love the fact I have to thrash the knackers off it to go anywhere quickley - but at least it goes round corners, without scaring me to death (ala Chimaera/Griff)

In that case you'll love the T350. It goes, brakes and handles like no other TVR and it loves to be taken by the scruff of the neck and given a good trashing.

Done over 20k in mine and no engine problems so far. The speed and handling still amazes me.

Only the lack of a local dealer has forced me to order something other than a TVR as my next car

Thanks guys.

I'm also considering a 350z. I know its japcrap, but I also realise it'll come with cheap servicing, great buildQ, long service intervals, no problems, etc...

...and it'll still be a damn good car.

Head says 350Z, heart says T350c.

Get a supercharged 350z maybe ... I'd prolly get one if there was no T350 (don't like the Tuscan, Cerbera is too like my Chimaera styling wise and the saggyarse is OTT IMHO).

Brilliant idea!!!!! Cancelled the new car, sold my house, ordered a Sagaris for commuting, a T440r and a Tamora for the weekends, a Chimaera for golfing, a T350t (with dormobile roofs) to live in and I'm renting space in County TVR's rear yard.... AND I've still got change for petrol!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOO!

P.S. Might get a Cerb as well in case I have overnight guests.

NURSE! Is it time yet?

I think you should be a bit more practical and move into a lock up garage near a dealer
