Hi guys,

I've just put down a deposit for the Tamora in Estoril Blue, that's advertised on the TMS site, (it goes without saying that I've gone for the upgrade to 18" alloys ).

I'm collecting it on Saturday - can't wait , although I'll be slightly sad to see the Chimaera go.

I was just wondering if any of you existing owners can offer advice regarding running it in?

Many thanks.

Make sure you vary the revs and don't go hooning around (i:e over 3,500 revs) for at least 2000 miles. I didn't really open mine up to more than 5,000 until it had done almost 6,000 miles. Make sure the engine oil temp is above 60 degrees when you go over 3,000 revs too. I have done about 8,000 miles now and my engine is beautiful, smooth when it's warmed up and so far I haven't had any mechanical problems...

Cheers
Andy

Agree with what Flasher said. The handbook tells you it all anyway.
As soon as you drive off in the Tamora you'll forget all about the Chimaera just like I did! (Except for the sound of the V8 idleing!)
Have a good weekend!
Cheers...... Andrew

same again, although I couldnt resist the odd mid-gear blip up to 4-5000 rpm (never on full throttle opening though) after 500 miles, now stretching it in short bursts up to 6000rpm after the first oil change. Only ever when oil temp is up though, and still not using full throttle opening. Worst thing you can do is labour in too high a gear. Dealer said the above was fine, you dont want to "over-protect" it, it may not bed in fully and result in oil consumption later in life. Mines used only 0.5 litres in 1500 miles. YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!
