Hi guys,
am desperate to swap my m3 cab for t350c. But before I do really wanna Know if I can run one as an every day car and what kind of service costs and intervals to expect.
Any pearls of wisdom would be appreciated plus anyone know about renewing engine warranty on one of these

6000 mile intervals, about £600 a service at a dealer.

Tappets need doing every 12K at an extra £200 or so

Warranties, opinions vary but anything they can possibly get out of, they will.

I run mine as an everyday car, although not had it through a winter, so yet to see how it is with a bit of ice on the road

With regards to servicing, 6000 mile being around £600 & 12000 mile being around £800.

Nope.

Latest date being banded around by TVR for delivery of parts is 13th October, so hopefully have it back for 15/16th.

Where did you get the 996 from ? Noticed the post in Vmax re: 520bhp & also price of £63k. Seems a good deal.

yep, I do, but I'm only just coming up to 6000 miles... I think the biggest expense is the petrol..!

Doing about 12k miles a year in mine using it every day. Servicing costs are like everybody's said, Tyres, about £180 a corner, fronts last about 15k, rears about 10k.

It's fine to use every day but you really need an enthusiastic dealer within about 30-45 mins of you. Like all the TVR's I've had, the new ones tend to need attention for lots of little problems during the first 6 months. After that they're fine.

I'd buy another one when I change next Spring but my local dealer closed down and my nearest is 2 hours away.

Yes - run my T350c as my only car. Since July 03 I've done 27000 miles! (25 showing due to speedo 'glitch')

Petrol costs reasonably high (although not as bad as I thought) - seem to get between 18 and 26mpg depending upon use - probably not too far from M3 Cab consumption. Full tank of fuel circa £40 will get between 180 and 250 miles. Servicing £600 - £800 plus other bits and bobs once the warranty runs out.

It is more work than a mass produced car... check fluids regularly, be meticulous about warming the engine before giving it some beans.. but I'll tell you - it is worth it! If you can live with the extra effort required then go for it. Maintenance and mechanical sympathy being the key to running these things as an everyday motor.

Another word from the wise... get a good relationship going with the after-sales department of whichever dealer you are planning on using! It makes all the difference.

Don't forget Air-con - loads of stuff on these forums about resale value etc but take it from me, winter or summer, air-con makes the car a viable option as an everyday motor - comfort and safety (clear windows).

Last point - if you don't like attention, don't get one of these. e.g. The fuel filler 'quirk' isn't the reason they take so long to fill up - it's the fact you can't get off the forecourt for people wanting to 'have a look'!

Get mine serviced at the factory, £438.00 for 6K service, better service than dealer as well, plus you can have a look around the factory. I too warm up religiously before using revs and check levels regularly. If you treat it like a vicars wife should be ok.

Warming her up before checking her fluid levels, or inviting her in for tea and scones?

CAREFUL! If you warm her up then check the fluid levels it might squirt everywhere.
