Cost to fill the tank is not really relevant is it? What you're after is mpg and MPtank?

I get 20-22mpg on average, mid to high 20s on a long motorway run. When refuelling I can get 50-52 litres in the tank and usually refuel between 200 and 250 miles depending on what style of driving I've been doing and how far the next Optimax stop might be.

The time taken to fill the tank might be an issue ... you have to be very gentle and not try to put more in once it clicks off. I look at the gauge and in my head think 'OK I need around 32 litres to make the tank 50 litres full' as soon as it clicks near this number I stop fuelling. If I try to put any more in it spits most back onto the floor (not nice, see recent thread on fuel filler).

18-20mpg, cost me £40 to fill up with BP Ultimate yesterday, and had done 203 miles on that tank.

I must admit the only time I worked mine out was on a 3 hour motorway run so you can probably knock a few mpg's off of my optimistic 23mpg quote above

about 20 mpg sounds right for mine for everyday driving....a bit less in traffic and a bit more on motorways.

As for filling with fuel, I've always found it a pain in the behind. I've tried nozzle positions that a contortionist would be proud of and almost always find that if I fill at a reasonable speed it decides to click out early and pump fuel over me and the forecourt floor.

Mind you....I used to have a Tuscan and when the same happened with that, the fuel pumped out of the filler, ran down the bodywork and dripped onto the hot exhaust. That's not a nice feeling......

I see 24mpg in mixed driving, returned just over 30 travelling to and from the Oulton Park track day, ~230 miles each way, ~35 litres. Got to be happy with that.
The manual says the fuel tank is 60 something litres but I have never seen more then 52 on the gauge. If I run it until the warning buzzer sounds then I can get maybe 42 litres in the tank and it registers 52 litres again. Usually 230 miles or so. Always light on the throttle if i am driving on the road.

I get about 22-24 mpg around town and just under 30 on a run if you're easy on the throttle. Any one notice that they run better and more mpg on optimax, must be more efficient on the higher octane?

Yeah I've noticed the same hilti....in fact it's quite noticeable.

On premium unleaded, the engine idles roughly and sounds strained beyond 4-5k

On Optimax it's all a hell of a lot smoother, smoother acceleration, sounds smoother and feels quicker

Interestingly I've recently tried a few tanks of BP Ultimate as I couldn't find Optimax anywhere....strangely it seems to be even better than Optimax! I say strangely as I was under the impression that BP Ultimate is 97RON

Anyway....this has probably been dealt with in the archives so sorry if I'm rambling on about an old topic
