I've been on the phone to Simon from Leven Technology asking about tamora extras
He's thinking about kick plates and wants ideas from tamora owners
I suggest some sort of water cap with a dip stick because I find it impossible to check the level...
Any thoughts

Some kick plates are a must..... I will have a set if he does them....

Count me in for some kick plates.
I'd love a sports Exhaust system but wont fitting one invalidate the Factory warranty ?

Kick plates definitely, and sports exhaust gets a big yes!! I remember you posting the idea before, flasher - I reckon the speed 6 is a little muted at lower revs, and would have a deep bassy rasp with the back box sorted out!!

I don't think it does invalidate the warranty. TMS fit them to their demo cars so it must be OK. I bought my Cerb off them with a sports exhaust and never had any warranty problems....

I have to get a sports exhaust, it's nowhere near as loud as it should be....

I'm thinking of going to Hayward and Scott and letting them have a look. It's only a back box, so it should be resonably cheap.......

Kickplates a "must have"

Aluminium/Chromed air vents would look good as well.

Was at Brands yesterday and had a close look at TVR 100. Car had a nice steering wheel, the center spokes were chromed. Also seeing the painted diffuser up close has changed my opinion, looks much better in the flesh. There was also a dark blue one with similar treatment except the underside of the spoiler was not done, nor the bonnet - made very nice contrast of colours.

Been after the kickplates for ages. Water cap with dipstick a must, but why isnt it TVR standard?? Alloy air vents also lovely....
They already do an alloy petrol cap but my standard one rubs against the boot lid, I'm worried it might be worse with metallic contact.
But the best idea would be some seatbelt runner guards to stop the folded roof jamming the belt against the b-pillar. ITS DRIVING ME NUTS, never mind dangerous. Anyone got another fix for this (apart from wrenching the roof around)?

...also....Lets have a sports exhaust that gets rid of the horrible resonant boom from 2500-3000 rpm. Louder, yes please, but a NICE noise....
Finally....put Level stainless screws on my steering wheel last week, looks fab, only £6!

Lance,
Agree with you on seatbelts-infuriating and a safety issue.
I will also be ordering the leven tech steering wheel screws.
To be very pedantic I am having the yellow personal logo on the steering wheel removed and either left black or done in grigio alloy. The same with yellow TVR on brake callipers!
Sports exhaust would be great only if the horrible resonance at low revs is solved or at least not amplified.
Kickplates are a must.
I have also changed my front lights/fog light bulbs to uprated Bosch Xenon type blue/white-a big improvement
It is then that you discover the bulb types listed in the owners handbook are not the ones that were actually fitted.

Which bulbs did you actually get then, grigio - I can toddle down to Halfords and get 'em!

Totally agree, I fitted Philips Vision Plus. Supposed (according to AutoExpress magazine test) to be even better than the regular aftermarket xenon/halogen units with 50% more light output rather than 30%. Seem awesome. Best bit is you can get them for just £10 a pair direct from Holland through www.bestcarbulbs.com

From memory-I can check this evening H3 and H7 size both for fog and headlights 55W. In owners handbook fog lights are listed at 21W.
However they were more than 10 quid so looks like Lance has found a cheaper route.
Also spent an enjoyable hour and a half removing my boot lid hinges and filing away on the various adjusment points to at last get the boot lid with an even gap left and right as well as the correct height.
Also needed to adjust boot lock position slightly.
Now looks alot better.
I will try and improve the appalling bonnet fit at the weekend- there is some adjustability with the hinges there as well.
I think the passenger door standing proud of the bodywork and the drivers side window gap will be jobs for TVR as there is a possibility of damaging or breaking something if I am my usual cack-handed self

yeah - all annoying (avoidable?) little faults. said this on another thread but you can make the boot open an inch wider by putting 10mm spacers behind the two hinge bolts - makes getting the roof in a lot easier. Of course if TVR had actually tried this originally they would have drilled the bolt holes 10mm nearer the leading edge so no spacers required. U listening guys??
Annoyed customers aint good business!!

Doesn't this mean the boot won't close properly?
I'm thinking water ingress?
I do agree it needs to open wider.

Cheers.

mine closes and seals fine, although 10mm is the largest you can go without fouling the seal

Where exactly do these 10mm spacers go that allow the boot to open further?

I was having a look at the weekend and the only place I thought it could be (without adversely affecting boot closing) was at the boot lid end of the 'securing arm' (if that's what it's called - the telescopic deely on the right hand side) is this the place?

Cheers.

yep that's it - the spacers make the arm sit proud of the boot underside, effectively pushes the boot further open about an inch at the top. There's just enough give in the boot seal to accomodate the extra spacers without damage or leaks.
