Finally .......after laying down the initial deposit at the motor show I am now about to finalise the spec on my Tamora. As well as having to decide on the colour (about 3 different schemes so far ....depending on the time of day etc) I am not sure about aircon. Have any of you any recommendations one way of the other after driving these for a while ?

I haven't got air con and the cabin can get pretty hot! I'm hoping the dealer can do something about it during its next service?
Can't really tell you how good the air con would be?
Cheers.... Andrew

On the aircon if the Tamora is similar to other TVR's then the Aircon can range from freezing to pointless, mostly erring towards pointless.

When I looked at buying a Tuscan they said that if I was to have ordered a new one then Air Con is a must for resale reasons. So it may be worth considering for that.

I have AirCon on my Tamora and in my opinion its a "must have". I find it excellent, in fact the best I have experienced on a TVR.

here's my tips:
Buy aircon (I didnt and wish I had).
Buy leather (my Bison is wearing terribly, I'm considering a warranty claim).
Get the glovebox lid in a dark colour (finger-prints galore).
Get the steering wheel and instrument binnacles in a dark colour to prevent dials / windscreen reflections.
If they're offering a more comfortable/adjustable seat option yet, take it.
Finally, get the 18"'s!

lrussell5,

Where is your Bison wearing?

I ask because my drivers seat was positioned hard against the side of the car (there is a small gap on the passenger side between seat and side) and by the first service it had rubbed the 'top' of the bison off (fabric visible) on both the side panel and where the seat made contact. I'm currently waiting for a decision on how best this can be fixed (the seat repositioned I suspect) before the side panel and seat are redone.

Cheers.

yep, same place as you plus.....
Center arm rest
All seat-belt rubbing points
Outer seat edges
Glovebox lid
etc...
basically anything you need to touch regularly!

My main colour is parchment - very light - so it shows wear much more visibly. Could be you're all suffering wear but havent noticed it yet. Look closely guys!
Its 2 months old, only done 1200 miles

Mike, I've done 5500 miles and have no problems with the bison wearing so in my eyes the leather is not worth the extra money. I do have the lamonta trim on the seats, doors and roof and would definitely recommend that.
More food for thought?
Cheers.... Andrew

Hi. I picked up my new Tamora two weeks ago and am really pleased with it. The one problem I had is that they hadn't fitted the aircon and it definately does get too hot. However, they can retro fit, if you are prepared to have your car sent back to the factory for two weeks!

Hi Nubbin

I got mine in silver with the 18" wheels. I have never been so in love with a car before. Jackie

I'm probably going to have to get this done on my Tuscan, in order to be able to keep it (read my previous posts). Will have to arrange an extensive hot test in another Tuscan to see how effective it is.

Dealer said approx £1,600 for the unit and £1,600 labour.

But if it means I can keep a fabulous vehicle, it should be worth it.

PS Congrats on your new acquisition....pictures ???

There is going to be a Stereo pack upgrade from the factory together with the well documented colour keying options

bad boy,

I ordered close ratio box but there is currently a supply problem so still waiting for it to arrive at my dealer and be fitted.

I also have full leather which while not adding much to resale values ( previous Tivs were also full leather ) stays in excellent condition if you feed it regularily.

Also had rear speakers upgraded - well worth it.
