Can anyone let me know if/where/how much i can get all the relavant parts to upgrade my T350c brakes to Red Rose spec, as i'm fed up with that rumble that i get when braking hard into a roundabout or bent, plus i get brake fade which is a little bit disconcerting at times!!
I mentioned this to Ben Samualson earlier this year, and he said that the rumble is caused by the disc's being drilled, and "they all do that sir"(do they? let me know if they do please)
So has anyone done this upgrade?? and has it got rid of the effin rummble???

I get the rumble. I also got it on my Chimaera after fitting grooved discs. Only seems to happen under 'medium' braking on mine.

How about changing the pads for something more fade resistant? I don't see how bigger discs with holes would rumble less?

The Red Rose brakes fitted to mine are those from the Tuscan S - so I guess they'd have to be available as spares?

Edited to say I've never had the rumble.....

Hi Trefor
Firstly i love the pic of the T350T in you profile.

I was told today that the larger discs and a better grade of pad would stop the rumble. Recently i chatted with a guy who had the RR convertion done.
The upgrade was amazing he said!!! and recomended it to everyone.
people on here have often raved as to how good the brakes are on the T350's,i only wish they were as good as my daily drive car which is an old L reg Rover 216sli.
But i have always thought of them as pretty poor from the day that i purchased the car from new, and my dealer told me that they needed time to 'bed' in. well i think that they have gone to bed now.

Dave, I had a RR Tuscan before, and the brakes were the dogs nuts. The t350 brakes are wishy washy in comparison

My recent T350 also has a 'rumble' from the brakes but curiously my Ginetta doesn't - although it has new drilled AND grooved discs, so you might have thought it would.
My 944 Turbo also used to rumble a bit but was on solid discs, and like the T350 the actual braking was very strong.
Any brake techies know the answer?

Hi Dave

You might want to give Steve at Silverstone TVR a call about the RR brakes...

I have to say, the brakes were the biggest disappointment to me, especially having read such good things about them.

I have T350T RR with uprated brakes (Tuscan S). Have'nt noticed any rumble. Waited until 5k miles before first trackday. Last thursday at Snetteron. 7 20 min sessions as hard as I was able. Absolutely no brake fade. Brakes were spot on for the whole day.

So, are the RR brakes just bigger discs with the same calipers adapted? or new calipers too? Just the fronts?

Seems weird to me, I uprated my Chimaera to 285mm 4 pots on the front and they were fantastic. Yet everyone is reporting the std 300mm ish T350 brakes are not very good. I've not been on the track yet, but I did experience what was possibly a bit of fade on the Stelvio Pass I had just caught some traffic so they cooled anyway. I think the T350s' brakes are a little underservoed. If you shove them they work well though. My Audi A6' brakes feel better for road driving.

I suspect all the press raves about the brakes were on press cars with undisclosed RR conversions :Whistlesinnocently:
