So, everyone likes the T350's nose. No one hates the Tam's, just a little indifferent. How hard would it be to transplant the nose from the T350 onto the Tam?

I've seen the photo's of the Griffuscan so that kind of thing can be done, and Bodo's "photos" in his profile look good. I'm sure it can be done with enough dosh, but how difficult would it be? Are the fronts the same under the skin? I'd bet the chassis are pretty bloody close.

So, who's got an angle grinder and is feeling brave? Jimmyt? You were lusting over Ricardo's T350...

Forget the nose, it's the rear end that needs the drastic plastic surgery!

I think you should add, in your opinion! I dont want to start a fight, but I have received nothing but compliments about the cars rear end! Most people say looks bad in a photo great in the flesh. But hey ho, differing opinions makes life more interesting! So in my opinon leave the car as it is. If you like the looks buy one, if you dont, dont buy one.

I agree, I personally love the look of the car, and when you're behind the wheel with a hugh smile on your face, you're not looking at the front, are you, it's a drivers car, and an unpretentious one at that

have you been smoking something?! the nose on the t350 is bloody ugly in my,and many others opinion.it lookes like a dumb tope thats been slapped in the face-the rear is impressive though.now the sagaris, well thats a differnt matter, and the lights are how the t350 shouldve had them.the tamoras nose looks stunning,a masterpiece which combines the classic looks of the griff with a modern feel.leave well alone i say.

Look at the Tamora's buttocks in the flesh, not a photo, and they are spot on.

The whole side profile is energetic, swept back, and looks a real successor to the Griff lines.

The diffuser breaks the lines up a bit, but hey.

You definately have to look at one in the flesh to appreciate it, when I saw one for the first time in 2002, I did fall in love, it looked like a very unpretentious design and looked like it would do 'exactly what it said on the tin', and my assumptions were correct!
To my mind, the Tam is natural successor to the Griff, it's like a more up to date cross between a Griff and a Tuscan Racer,,, the Chim was always seen as more of a GT car, with the larger boot, as with the Tuscan.
If you look at the rear of the Tam in the flesh, it does look the part, especially with those massive tyres showing where the wheel arches flair inwards towards the bottom
Regarding the T350 front, I look at that and just see design cues from every other modern sports car/coupe, although I love the look of ALL TVRs from the Griff onwards

As Wheeler says, "If it happens, it's an accident."

Which is why the Griff is such a winner, nothing is added for effect and by happy coincidence it ended up looking like the automotive equivalent of the Spitfire.
Take the Zonda, the new Merc and Pug, too many design additions, not enough purity of purpose. I'm still having trouble with the Sagaris btw

Almost all - I have to ask why the T350 has that attentuated rump excused by TVR as aerodynamically necessary, yet the Sagaris has a far more resolved, elegant rear end. Nevertheless, we owe a debt of gratitude to Peter Wheeler and his little band of modellers. Our car crowded lives are the richer for his vision. (Or is that poorer for the prices?) Anyhow, three cheers for TVR, big butt Tamoras and all.

TVR have been fortunate that the majority of their cars look good from most angles, from early Granturas onward.

Personally I think the T350 is clean and purposeful, the Sagaris a mess and the Tamora is the exception to the rule. Its just butt ugly (IMHO), but a great performer and the only convertible TVR build.

IMO the Tamora looks great as it is, pictures really don't do it justice. I saw a yellow (Halcyon Midas?) one a few months back in Altrincham, it really did look the dog's b****cks (not sure the rather large tailback appreciated me waiting for it to blast past though)

Anyway, these wouldn't look too bad:

Most people say that until they see a Tamora in the flesh for the first time. I personally think my Tamora is fabulous, rear end as well, and I have had many, many hundreds of compliments from different people in the UK, France, Italy and Switzerland first hand. No-one has ever made any negative comments about any part of her design when they actually see her.

Ditto. Only postive comments here too. Normally I make a point of asking specifically about the rear.

Then compare them to an E-Type, a Porsche Boxster, a BMW Z8, and many a cheaper contemporary roadster, and the Tamora's derriere is bulbous, without the muscularity needed for a powerful sports car. "Not a winner" as it says on the scratch 'n see card. It's a fatal flaw on an otherwise excellent sports car.

You picked some bad examples there. The E-type, fair enough a classic but the Boxster is just a two-faced fat arsed blob, and the Z8 illustrates how BMW just dont get it.

The Tamora isn't actually bulbous at all. See it in the flesh. I have never seen a photo that did the Tamora justice.

So back to the original question, is anyone prepared to graft a T350 nose to a Tamora?

I know it can be done but will anyone do it?

I've had comments on the size of my own arse when getting out of the Tamora, but never the car's .

Rob - I'm still getting over taking a jigsaw to the inside of the car (speaker upgrade) and that was several months ago let alone an angle grinder!

Oh yeah, and the thought of changing the nose on the Tam - disgraceful - thats the best bit!

I like the rear-end although accepting that it is not everyone's cup of tea. But the best bit at the back IMO, is the rear diffuser, I think that makes a bigger & better statement about the car.

I've always liked the Tamora's rear-end. Awsome. Watch this space as I'm buying one!

Can understand why 'classically trained' car lovers may not like it however.

Get's a big 'whatever' from me...
