Happy Days!!!!!

Just changed my Chim for a Tam..
Fantastic car, can't stop smilling, what
a difference between the cars, sooooo much
better Very happy, I can't undertsand why more
people hav'nt bought these cars. Just want
to go driving all the time but blxxdy limited
mileage insurance means it would be in the garage
for the next 11 months at this rate.
Just hope TVR carry's on building these beauties for
many more years!!

I had a Chim for the last two years, and yes it was a good car and great for long cruising journeys but for me after driving a friends Elise and Noble the ride and handling did just not compare in the Chim. I was sad to see the old girl go and slightly reluctant after reading some of the speed 6 stories on here. :-(
But after around one hours of driving in the Tam it has to be the best decision I have ever made
The Tamora feels much more like a super car and is more than a match for the above motors. The driving is much more involved and feels very solid cornering. The distinctive looks make it stand out on the road, I've only had mine a few days and already I've had people standing around admiring the car asking questions.
Re the speed 6, I've got warranty, RAC cover and a few quid in the bank to be able to afford a super car. Being a TVR owner before I will be amazed if I have no problems during the length of the ownership, these are not family hatchbacks and so I don’t expect it. The engine does sound slightly ropey on start-up but after a decent warm up it growls into life and the acceleration is more than enough through the gears. I love the driving position, being over 6” the seats are incredibly comfortable, visibility good and the pedal positions make it much more race like. I doubt I will be tracking it so unless I can get to Germany or maybe a burst of speed down to LeMans may never see it’s full potential.
I'm more than happy with my decision in buying this after the Chim, I looked around at others including a Noble and Elise but nothing came close on a price/performance comparison with more than a hint of practicality to boot. Two sets of golf clubs fit nicely in the boot and a decent sized
Overnight bag behind the seats.
If the new Ruski owner is reading this then please do not change the look and feel of these cars, just a few more quid spent on sorting any past Speed 6 problems out is just fine by me!!
Sorry for the essay but could write about this car until my keyboard gives up!!!
One very happy TVR owner :-)

Well done , as others have said, welcome to a very exclusive club . Seems we had essentially the same background regarding concerns about the Tam after having a flawless Chim,,, but, I definately love the Tam a lot more than I did the Chim (never thought I'd say that when I had the Chim!),,and your right, the performance/handling are in another league altogether.

I've been wanting a Tamora since I saw one at Pistonfest, but how do they compare to the Tuscan?
I think I will have a change in the Spring but which car to get I am undecided, unless someone will offer me a good price on the Chim
Having had a 4 litre Chim for 2 years I am wanting something a bit more modern looking with better performance. Anybody had a Tam and a Tuscan to compare them?

No, but I've driven a Tuscan a few times - the performance is essentially much the same, but the Tamora is better in the corners, possibly the shorter body aids turn-in.
I have to say that after looking at the recent reliabilty poll, the Tamora seems to pop up in the "No-rebuild" column all the time, whereas the vast majority of speed 6 problems have been in Tuscans. That's a good enough reason to buy a Tamora, and it is a proper soft top, and the interior is spot on, it's comfy, roomy and barmy!
I had a 4l Chimaera before my first Tamora, and they are worlds apart in terms of power and handling, as well as practicality (passengers actually have leg room in a Tamora!!)

Done 3200 miles in ours since 1st July! Never been happier, best car I have ever bought. Truly stunning! Just got back from a 1200 mile trip around France! Was mobbed and cheered by the french who loved the car as well! Even got chased by someone desperate to stop me and get photo's!
Best decision I ever made and such a worthy replacement to a Chim or a Grif, in my opinion. Those that criticise, tend not to have driven one!

I got a DAB tuner in mine after living with virtualy no raido reception at all in the Chim for so long this
is a big bonus, armourfend for the front after reading some of the posts on here this could be a good
idea, a tyre inflator as no spare tyre and a new
camera to take loads of photos of me happy as larry sitting inside it.
Sun's out time to go for a spin!!
