Trying to work out where to set my red change up light and from the docs and info I have read 7,200 seems to be peak horsepower. Any opinions on going higher for maximum thrust?

Peak power and torque is at 6400 revs - so not much point going beyond 6750 - put your red light there!

Hmm, My handbook says

Max Power 350bhp @7200rpm
Max Torque 290ft.lbs @5500rpm

Anybody got a dyno plot for the 3.6?

I have the green light @3000rpm to serve as a warning light for a cold engine.

Yellow is @6300 and Red is @6500.

I saw the red light a couple of times on a recent track day at Oulton. I checked the recall on the display and saw that the maximum rpm achieved was 7197. Suggests that the engine rpm can increase so quickly that it is sensible to have the change up light set low.

Yes, me! That's how I know where the peaks really are. I'll e-mail a copy if you like.

Use the buttons on the back of the steering wheel to toggle through the menu until you get to setup. Select setup then you will have a number of options. On mine one of those is recall. Select recall then you can go and have a look at max speed and max rpm amongst pages of other stuff. You can reset the values to 0 then check them again later.

Send me an e-mail so I can attach the powergraph to a reply - you can't attach anything direct through PH.

I need to test whether changing up at Nubbin's suggestion drops me out of the power band in the next gear - the car needs to hit the next gear above 4,000 rpm ideally.

BTW, I'm sure mine builds power up to 7,000 at least, seems to drop off after this. Maybe just the 'ooo feck it's fast' effect though

I'm not sure how accurate the system is for these settings....when I was limiting myself to 3000rpm for running in the recall told me that I had done about 7000rpm and 200mph since the last reset!

LOL, Have to agree, looked at my recall yesterday, the rev limit was at over 9K and the top speed was down as 240mph
