The other day I noticed my steering wheel boss screws were looking a bit 'weathered'. Took one out ... hmm looks familiar. Yep, the Leven ones fit just fine. I now have shiney nuts on my wheel, must better than corroded looking screws. £6 thankyouverymuch.

My next plan is to find a replacement for the black/rusty rocker cover/HT lead cover screws/bolts on the top of the engine.

I found (temporarily lost) a good source for chrome nuts with sizes which looked right, just need to get a thread gauge and check.

Me too - I just used black hammerite, they came up quite nicely!

If only I'd seen this thread earlier...!!

We sell steering wheel screws at £5.99 per pack (including p&p), which includes an allen key (you know, the one you always need for an important job, and is never to be found!)

I changed my steering wheel alen bolts for Leven items. Now waiting for the Mountney steering wheel to arrive to get rid of the black spokes and yellow logo? (Mountney is red / black leather to match interior with Silver anodised spokes.

Also changed the plug lead cover bolts for stainless items. Available in tubs of various sizes from Demon Tweeks.

Ah, so it isn't just my car either then! My one (well, dads which I have until I sell it) leaked for a while so I assumed the rusty seat back screws and steering boss screws were just because of that!

So what size are these rocker/plug lead cover bolts then?

Just checked my seat back screws and noticed one's missing, short of taking the seat out, I can't find the blighter! Looks like I shall have to buy some too!

Ellis, take one of your seat back screws out and measure it. I can send you some nice stainless ones. Let me know the diameter and the length of them. Also are the heads "cap head" (end where the hex-alan key goes is cylindrical) or "countersunk" (cone shaped). Can send you some pics to confirm what they look like.
