Hi Guys

Am considering buying a T350C witout aircon with a view to getting aircon installed by the factory. Does anyone have any experience of this. If so will the system be as good as an original factory fit system and what sort of costs can I expect? (thinking £2K)

Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Craig

Aircon retrofitted will cost around the 3K mark, with little to no change left! Buy one of those plug-in-cigar-lighter travel fans instead! lol

Craig,

As you know there are lots of points to consider when buying a second hand T350. Aircon is obviously one of them and your experience of aircon in the past will help you prioritise this. In answer to your question;

Retro fitting is an opion but you have to be careful of the way that the interior is removed and put back together as I have heard it can be a bit shoddy.

As far as the responses you may receive go;

One thing I would advise is that too many people advise 'Wouldn't buy one without it'. There are a few of us that don't have it and manage. Don't be scared off.

If you find the (almost) perfect T350 is terms of mileage, paint job, interior, cost etc and it doesn't have aircon don't let others worry you about purchasing it.

Plenty of windows down action and air blowers on cold will suffice - however, I don't get stuck in rush hour traffic during the week in mine so this maybe something to consider as well.

Hope this helps.

DCM.

We had aircon retro-fitted in our Tamora - cost was the same as if it had been there at the beginning - £2K.

Thanks for all of your help. I wonder if Tam Girl had any issues with the way your Tamora was put back together and also is the aircon just as good as if it had been originally factory fitted?

Also how hot does it get in a T350C without aircon. Would it be similar to the Griffith 500 I had before does anyone know?

Many Thanks
Craig

No issues at all - can't even tell it was retro-fitted (except we now have cold air coming out of the vents!). Having spoken to a number of people who have had air-con from new, it seems that having it retro-fitted may actually be better than having it from new - the cold air is very cold! We have to turn it on and off even on hot summer days so as not to freeze!

Curious - How would retro fitment improve it?
