Yep, Got the Pioneer ACIC X1 installed in my Tam, all works perfectly, (apart from it was initially set to Austria!!)
I also had my extra tweeters installed, plus my Road Angel 2 hard wired, all this came to £150, not bad I thought for 4 hours work, and showing me how to use the unit, (Company that installed is C.S.S. Car Sounds & Security on Gloucester Road, Cheltenham, guy's name is Peter Sharp,,, wouldn't have posted the firm if they hadn't have done a pukka job )
My only prob now is, I had to then take my Tam to County TVR where it's staying to have the throttle pots and other things changed, so I wont be able to use it 'till at least tomorrow night God dammit!!! lol

Oh yes, one other thing, I cancelled my order for the seperate speed pulse generator, as the one fitted to the Tam works fine, at ANY speed

We will need some pics when you get it back.

Useful to hear about the speed sensor being adequate.

Glad to hear it Chris. I also had a bit of a gadget-fitting weekend and now have the tweeters fitted and an Origin B2. Still working on the mounting and cable routing for the garage door opener

The TS-T23 pioneer tweeters are brilliant. With just the uprated rear speakers I couldn't clearly hear speech on the radio (DAB) at much over 30mph and music was inaudible or just base notes, it's now crystal clear on speech, and music sounds good hood up or down. Best £58 I've spent and dead easy to fit yourself - no holes or even sticky tape required.

Some pics of the speakers and B2 are here:

That looks really good ffirg It all looks very neat, I will post some pics when, (or if!!) I get my car back, hopefully tomorrow. I just wish I could have fitted the rear camera, as once again this afternoon I was in a very tight spot and found it VERY difficult to manoeuver in reverse,,, but, nowhere to put the camera May get a reverse sensor one day, but not sure how much more electronics the battery can take!! lol

I hope you installed the crossovers for the tweeters! The pair that were fitted to my tamora when I bought it were not so well done, and I blew them apart with a bit of George Thoroughgood - needless to say, the new ones are properly filtered, and as you say, the sound improvement is tremendous - especially as I have two 10" main speakers in the rear!

No crossovers used, but don't see why they should be needed anyway as the speakers are up to the level specified by Pioneer:

Specs of TS-T23: 4ohm, 150w [50w nominal]

From DEH-P4400R Installation Manual:
"Speakers connected to this unit must be highpower
types with minimum rating of 50 W and
impedance of 4 to 8 ohms. Connecting speakers
with output and/or impedance values other than
those noted here may result in the speakers
catching fire , emitting smoke or becoming damaged."

Admittedly they are only just up to spec and I'm not at all doubting that yours blew as you said Nubbin, so I'll just have to watch the volume on those Van Halen tracks...

So how do crossovers work then? I've always wondered - do they stop the low frequencies getting to the tweeters or something?

I think I will install some tweeter on my car, just need somewhere to put some bass up front (hence various posts from me on the topic of front speakers).

Whats that on the left of your windscreen? Is that the DAB aerial? I am desperate to change our cd changer for dab as our pioneer 7600 only supports two ip connections, 1 ipod (i think under aux) and 1 cd changer for now (soon to be dab).

Car looks good. Nice to see another Tamora!

Nubbin,

Which make/model of crossovers did you buy for the front tweeters (I've done the same and blown up my left one!)

Crossovers are used to filter out the frequencies that aren't supposed to be going to the speaker.. ie low's for tweeters and highs for sub's..

OK - so not not just a question of power outputs then... guess I need them too before I blow mine.

Maddog - yes, that's the DAB aerial.

No - I already checked. It was factory fitted so would be surprised if it isn't all Pioneer.
