Having rang TVR Power yesterday, asking if they could sort out my throttle pot wear prob, the guy said that my Tam could not be fitted in for them to do it for a few weeks, however,,, he suggested I order the parts from them and let my local dealer sort it.
So, I ordered not only the throttle pots (looks nothing like I expected,, 2 lille plasticy bits!), and a set of the newer HT leads. Ordered yesterday,(£119 all in btw) came today!! A first for me and dealings with ordering stuff for my Tam, (car mats took 2 months, kickplates 3 weeks, and a booster cushion which is still MIA!!!)
County TVR in Cheltenham are doing the honours for me a week Tuesday, I have asked them to replace the throttle pots, and check the throttle bodies, change the spark plugs and HT leads, and finally replace the oil pressure thingie as, like Maddog, I have a small leak, hopefully, no more embarrassing stutter when I put my foot down when done!
I asked about the cost of a close ratio gearbox fully fitted, and told it would be around the £2200 mark, (the gearbox has just gone up in price to £1900!!), but, County TVR told me that TVR in Blackpool said that I would feel very little difference for the massive outlay in cost unless I was a trackday demon!, (at which point I told Rob at County that I am no such animal, as I come crying to them at the mearest notion that my car is playing up!!! lol)
Now, I know that some other garages I have had dealings with in the past (and never again) would not have tried to talk me out of a CR box, so all credit once again to County for being honest )

I ordered the kickplates from the 'old' TVR Gear website, (around the £50 if memory serves), as Leven do not do a set, (presumably because of the lack of Tams out there, not cost effective??)
There are 2 different sizes, and you need to be aware of that when you fix them in place, or you'll do what I did and have to try and 'rip' it off again!! The 'narrow' one fits on the drivers sill, and the 'wider' plate on the passenger side, Sods law I fitted them the wrong way round in my haste to fix them in place!
They are nice though, the standard kickplate with 'Tamora' etched on it
