According to the handbook the water level should be approx 10mm from the top of the filler neck.

I keep filling to this level but after rechecking after use find that the level is right at the bottom of the filler neck, if left still stays at this same level.

Any advice as to if this is correct?.

They all do that sir. Dip something longer than your finger in to find out what it's natural level is - like a wooden spoon handle - and top up if it goes below that.

I use a long hanled paint brush, the ones for painting behind radiators. The normal level should be in the middle of the top hose coming from the engine, any more and it will spurt it out.

Its not good to overfill as sometime once the system tries to spit out the excess water it can develop a flow and spit out to much.

Gents

Many thanks for the info, looks like a wooden spoon will be kept in the boot along with the tyre inflator.

Ffirg005 sounds like you too owned a Lotus at some time (TADTS)?.

No, but if it was first uttered by Lotus that would explain the "Sir" which I always thought unlikely to come from Blackpool. Perhaps the TVR service version should be TADTM.
