If hypothetically speaking someone wanted to put a stick on number plate (flimsy plastic as opposed to using self adhesive pads to 'stick on' an acrylic) to the front of their car, does anyone where one can be purchased.? I know that they are illegal but it’s a hypothetical question after all

I just bought a slightly smaller plate and used velcro to attach it to the car. Looks much better than a full size plate, if a little naughty. I never got a tug with a smaller plate on my Chimaera in 3 years so I think I'll be OK. Obviously the velcro means the plate can be changed for a full size on whenever (temporarily) required.

Just need the registration of some other Red Glow Pearl T350s now

They are not legal - see point 26 www.dvla.gov.uk/faq/faq_number_plates.htm#1

Relax man. I had a plate this size on my Chimaera for over 3 years without a tug. I changed it back for MOTs. This one is velcroed on, so I can rip it off (quite hard actually - industrial strength velcro) and replace it with the std sized one quite easily.

Even if you get a tug you only get a fine, no endorsements (I think).

Anyway, it's the car that is big, not the plate that is small

What about "black/silver plates" ? (old irish i think)

I think these would look cool on a T350 - and fancy plates do them for any reg...

Anyone got pics of any with black/silver plates?

Stick on vinyl plates look nice, but they are a bit of a job to apply properly, because of the compound curve, and you tend to get wrinkles as the vinyl excess has nowhere to go.
Never the less it is possible with a little perseverence.

Hey Super Dave

You can get by this by using the wife's hair dryer to heat the vinyl up and shap it to the front of the car...

Hi ya super Dookie
You are correct of course!!But you don't get many chances to get it positioned right, as the normal way of sticking vinyl is to use a very mild soap water solution, so that you can slide the sticker around to get it in the correct place.
But who am i to say? i only use the stuff all day long
Dave..(super)

Does your local max power parts/bits shop not sell vinyl.

If you really have problems mail me and I could get one made for you and posted. The one on the front of my T350 is 28cm by 9cm and in 3-4 years of running round with plates this size I have never been tugged.

And yes its illegal!!!!

It also looks so much better
