Tamora Polished Exhaust

I'm sure I'm not alone in having the factory matt black paint flake off the exhaust. Read one of you guys had cleaned ot all off and polished the exhaust up, would like to do that too. How did you get off the remaining paint? Tried white spirit and meths, dont want to scratch it if possible. Also what should I polish it with - is Autoglym metal polish suitable for heat applications? Thanks!

FWIW I use Autosol (white stuff, comes in a tube) for all my metal polishing, aluminium, chrome, the lot. Works for me.

I used fine grade wire wool and a bit of Nitromors - but I don't think the latter made any difference. I polished them up with Autosol, as mentioned, and a cotton buffing wheel attached to my drill. It's not a mirror finish, but looks a lot better! See them at Chatsworth on Sunday!
