Apparently the factory, whilst not making loud noises about it, will colour code everything on request. Looks good but I have a feeling that stone chips could be a big problem. I had my bonnet all coded but left the rear alone.

Regarding stone chips, why not fitting special tape?
They do exist for headlights and may not look too obtrusive on the whole front of a car, even less under the rear diffuser

I saw that car on the week end, what a nice car , it could grow on you very easly, but there is clear plastic films that you can stick on to protect the paint work, have a look at the Demon Tweeks web site.
Good luck

TVR are a bunch of tossers at times! I wasn't allowed a black car, 18" wheels were never going to be an option and the rear diffuser/bonnet scoops would always be black. Every one of them a lie!
Personally I prefer the diffuser in black (my GTS Blue shows up the stone chips) but I'd have had the bonnet scoops colour coded!
What's going to be next?
Cheers....... Andrew

My car is in the body shop at the moment having a few paint issues sorted out.
Um, so should I get them to colour code the diffuser whilst it's in there ?
I’ve got Armourfend fitted so I’m not worried about stone chips.
I’m just not sure. Everyone who has looked at the car has commented on the diffuser and it’s split pretty much 50 / 50 on if it would look better body colour or not.
I suppose it all depend on how much they want to try and charge me to do it.
The diffuser is one of the bits that needs spraying as it got badly scratched on the two big bolts below the exhaust whilst being fitted at the factory. So it should not cost too much more to paint it blue instead of black I would have thought……………………

IMO to go colour-coded or not depends on the colour itself: gb's car is lovely with the black diffuser, I don't think it may look so good with a blue diffuser...It might fit light colours better

I think it looks stupid in body colour, with the black section between two body colour pieces. It merely serves to emphasise the bolt-on nature of the rear diffuser. I would only do it if the whole rear section was painted in body colour. I asked for the bonnet vents to remain body colour, and enquired about the rear diffuser. "they will be black" was the reply. It is very irritating but typical of the one-man show that is TVR.

What I have done at the back, is to remove the black paint from the exhaust pipes. It was poorly applied, and starting to peel off, so I've removed it and polished the tailpipes. Looks a lot nicer.

Thom, thanks, I agree that a blue diffuser wouldn't look right.
Nubbin, my exhaust pipes are starting to peel so if the black on them was easy to come off I'll probably do the same. I'll take a look at your polished ones at Chatsworth!
Cheers..... Andrew

Got to say I prefer mine... my black bits on the car contrast really well, In yellow the painted diffuser looks stupid

agree with Andy TVR can be total tossers at times...

same paint with black inserts...

and without...........

Mmmm prefer the black, with yellow but I think it might suit different colours like blue...

Nice of TVR to nick my colour scheme for their latest demo...

My first choice would be a completely black car, but I think that I would swerve the black bits on the whole, IMO they detract from the lines of the car.

Have they got a colour coded purple one there now? That may well be worth a look.
