From the AutoTrader site, £17.999
2003 TVR TAMORA 3.6 6-SPEED CONVERTIBLE,
2003, stunning car, was lightly damaged, now fully professionally repaired (Cat D) needs slight finishing, few bits, genuine sale, absolute bargain, might p/x-BTC. £17,995.

Would you buy it?? If it is only light damage, and the chassis is OK, someone may get a bargain!

Depends on where it was damaged. If you could speak with the last owner and find out what happened and feel OK about it then why not. As long as the 'slight finishing needed' isn't a complete retrim and respray.

I'd think carefully about how you're going to sell it on too - if you don't plan to sell for many years then fine.

If it appears slightly dodgy then walk away. Also get a dealer or even the factory to check the car ovar before buying.

Also, they're obviously making a fat profit here so offer 15k IMO.

Correct, it's not Nubbin's old car.

So why would someone in the trade be selling a car that's been prepared but not yet 'finished'?
Surely they'd be able to get it 'finished' cheaper than the rest of us hence increasing their profit?

Seems dodgy to me! And it's only done 87 miles!

LOL,, that was quite mashed!! Personally, I wouldn't touch that Tam (spent too much already lavishing care and attention to the one I have!), and I suspect it would be nigh on impossible to sell on, having said that, if someone gets it checked over thouroughly by a pro, it may give years of enjoyment for (relatively)
outlay, assuming maybe another 2-3K is needed to get it 'ship shape'

Yeah i know Nubbin's old car was absolutely battered. I just put two and two together....

Take one written-off car, bit of work, respray, impossible to fix outright, advertise it as "needing finishing"....you see where I'm coming from?

Wasn't a grey Tam nicked from Hawthorns? Could this be it?

I think most of us dismissed the "re-shell a write off" theory...but it suddenly seems believable.

I'd like to think that the car is a genuine, properly rebuilt car that will pass an autolign test and make a new owner very happy.

Having just acquired a new one I thought I would look at the site and see what others were up for sale. Look at this picture. It looks like a left hooker, but in reality the picture is flipped!

Other than the fact that the bonnet vent is on the wrong side so it's obviously flipped!
