I currently own a Honda S2000 and am considering replacing with a used T350C.

I would be interested to hear from other people who have done the same (or even the other way around) and also advice from current T350C owners.

Any recommendations on model year? The S2000 went through a number of revisions every couple years where improvements were made. Has this also happened with the T350C?

Would I be advised to steer clear of early examples given it is a new model? I am thinking of a late 2003 model / early 2004. What would be a good price?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Mechanically they have not changed since the model was released on a 52 plate. All the T350 Speed Six engines do not suffer from the maladies early TVR Speed Sixes suffered (Tuscans etc.).

Personally, I would go for as new a car as possible to get more warranty. Or at least ensure the car you buy has a warranty that will pay for an engine rebuild if the unthinkable happens. It shouldn't but buying the warranty will probably mean it definitely doesnt.

TVR have made minor revisions to the interior trim add ons, but not the exterior/mechanics. Brand new cars coming out of the factory are supposed to have slightly revised steering/front suspension alignment, but I don't think any PHers have one of these yet to comment.

The main trim change which you may want to try and get is the load cover. This was fitted soon after launch as luggage could be seen and also hit you in a crash. I think the door kickplates were not around originally, although many cars have had these retrofitted. Sunvisors were also introduced on more recent models (handy if you are really realy short, otherwise irrelevant as you won't be able to see where you're going with them lowered). Targa models had the fittings revised from a simple Wickes mechanism to a more upmarket Homebase mechanism. The later mech seals better, but it a pain in the fingers to get adjusted right.

Go drive a few and enjoy - they're great cars. You'll be used to the power being up the revs coming from an S2000 - this took me a while coming from a torquey V8.

If you're maybe considering a Targa version, I know of a pretty sweet one that will be for sale soon

One thing i would say having just sat through the used market for the last 2/3 months is that cars don't come up regularly so if you want a used you may have either sit and wait or comprise and get one that is not exactly how you would have had it.....needless to say i went for a new one in the end for this exact reason.....and the dealer managed to get the finance payments exactly the same by upping the balloon on a new car.

Used prices for 12 month old car is about £36k at dealers at the mo.
