My bonnet realease has stopped working - anybody got any ideas /suggestions before I attack it at lunchtime..?!

you can reach the cable through the bonnet vent, pull the cable and it will realease the bonnet. probably needs oilling, use if you can 3 in 1 lub, it better lasting than wd40.

Matthew,
Its possible the barrel on the cable has loosened off and that the cable can no longer pull the catch. It is possible to manually actuate the catch with a small screw driver. Access from passenger side of the bonnet through the gap at the back.
Its a two person affair as once the catch is released, someone needs to lift the bonnet.

I had a problem like this. Turned out to be the catch on the bonnet, both bolts were loose. Tightened up and then OK.

Found I had to open the bonnet by pulling sideways as well as upwards (towards me from drivers door)

Managed to do it ok - it was the barrel that had slipped on the cable as suggested... unfortunately I sheared the clamping bolt in the process of (over)tightening it....
