Test drove another Tam last weekend, and on part of the route had to turn round a small roundabout, on full right lock there was a bit of a grinding sound. Dealer says this isn't unusual on Tam's with 18" wheels, as car was designed for 16's - anyone else get this?

Is it anything to worry about, or can it be cured?

Not had it on mine and I certainly have used full lock. The turning circle though is extremly comical for such an agile car on the roads! The bad news is I feel tempted to just boot it and power slide it round!

When I upgraded from 16s to 18s TMS also shortened the steering lock by about 4mm.
Could be the car you drove just had the wheels changed and nothing else?

My 18"s came new with the car. I have not had any problems and I often use the full turning circle (you need to on these things!)

utter rubbish.

they have the same size essentially as the tyre is smaller on the 18s.

They just do that on a lot of Tams - mine did it A LOT on 16s - infact it ground a hole in the front wing behind the light.

If it is the same as the Tuscan you need
to put a small plastic spacer on each side of
the steering rack inside the rubber gater to
limit the lock.I had to do it to mine when putting
18 inch spider's on the Tuscan hence cars with 18's
as standard already have the spacer's fitted.
Easy to do as they just clip into place takes
less than half an hour.
