Just an easy one! I am at 933 miles, is that enough or should I use this as an excuse for another 50 mile trip out tomorrow night. It’s going in Friday morning for a little holiday and its 1st service.

I am amazed based on the doomsters predictions how good this car is, extremely solid, extremely well built

Here is my issue list
1) Alarm, which is now behaving
2) Headlamps need adjustment

That’s it. Either I am

A) Extremely lucky
B) Terrible at spotting things

Other things I want doing
Not brave enough to fit the Leven badge now I have looked (not sure what to stick the carpet with). Shinynuts fitting.

I feel so happy!

1150-1200 miles at first service, and the only faults were minor. 4750 for 6,000 miles and again only minor stuff. Booked in at the end of the month for a brake upgrade.

My 1,000 mile service was at around 1150 miles. I only paid for the fluids/filters. Dealer fixed most snags - I'll post my snag list when I get home (currently in US on businees). 99.9% of problems were trim/paint related.

K.K.

BlackMonday, that's interesting...mine is just going in for its 1K (1,180 miles, to answer the thread query!) and I have a leak in driver's footwell and noisy window (it rattles at speed). Do you know what the fix to both that Blackpool applied was?
Cheers,
David.

The leak was comeing from the lower extreme front of both windows and hey replaced the rubber seals around both windows resulting in no more leaks or wind noise. They even apologised for the bad fit of the original seals

1060 first service.

Mine was totally free and Kerridges gave me 1/2 gallon of oil as well.

Now done 3100 Since 2nd June.
Problems so far.
Usual EFI 4 fault.
Tailgate - Push button - bit loose - wouldn't open - something inside - reglued. now OK

Both doors dropped slightly and causing opening problems. (It seems that the door and check plate are not registering properly and so window will not drop before opening. Passenger worse than Drivers.
The roof overhangs the door which is why the window needs to drop. (Doesn't drop - doesn't open)
There is felt stuck to underside of overhang which causes window to press snuggly against seals. Half has disappeared, causes noise and window to rattle against bare roof.
Leaks from head lining above RV Mirror. Suspect water getting thru Targa roof panel.
Due to be done next week.
Scratches from door on bodywork to be done sometime.

No big deals, haven't used any oil in 2k. Brilliant.

Oh yeah, someone has nicked both valve covers from one side. Suspect child cyclist!!!

Here's my snags with the action taken by dealer. Notice, only one mechanical (brakes), the rest are mainly trim and paint:

- Front RHS brakes. Brake pads appear to be loose in the caliper causing clonking when braking (brake peformance does not appear to be affected). Also when warm a constant knock knock knock can be heard when driving, the noise goes away with slight application of the brake pedal (this sounds like a pad catching on the disc). New pads and adjustment of retaining clips has solved problem

- A loud chirping sound is emitting from under the dashboard area. It sounds as if something similar to a metal cable is chafing on another piece of metal/bodywork. This noise is not connected to road speed or revs. It does get worse on some surfaces and can occur at any speed, but rarely occurs when stationary and never at tickover. It does not occur all the time, but once the car is warmed up it is guaranteed to make an appearance at some point. This noise is driving me mad! Dealer diagnosed after much effort as one of the front springs being twisted/seated badly. Dealer has adjusted and asked me to comment. Noise has changed so that's it - going to call them for new springs

- Annoying occasional rattle coming from the electric mirror adjuster. This can be replicated by simply touching/moving the mirror adjuster – the button appears loose.Seems TADTS

- Passenger door trim damaged – needs replacing as previously discussed. Replaced

- Glovebox not closing evenly. Dealer says it is bonded in place, can't adjust

- Gear lever gaitor loose. fixed

- Dashpod gives an 'EFI Warning 4' every time the car is started. Does not occur at any other time. Dealer thought they fixed, but error still there

- The max speed/max revs readings in the dashpod menu overreads – for instance recently it read 199mph and 6150rpm when I had not exceeded 80mph and 4000rpm at the very most. Not checked but supposedly fixed - not sure how though

- Alarm interior sensor is too sensitive, resulting in alarm being triggered when someone looks in the window without even touching the car. Please can this be adjusted for less sensitvity? Dealer adjusted - still a bit too sensitive - will adjust myself

- Some blisters/bubbles are visible on the paintwork above the driver's door near the windscreen. resprayed

Inside the driver's door shut area there are two chips which have been badly touched up. There is also an area where it appears the lacquer is missing.resprayed, but missed one part

Along the top of the nearside front wing, close to the bonnet there are a series of lumps in the finish.resprayed

The nearside rear light cluster leaks water, there is a gap in the sealant along the top of the cluster.fixed

There is a water leak under the offside rear side window. The interior trim to the inside of this window is wet after rain.resealed

The front offiside wheel has a chip on the rim.forgot

Plastic trim along top of rear screen keeps becoming detached.new part ordered

Black paint finish inside engine bay very untidy/not fully painted.sprayed black

Driver's door requires 2 presses of opener button to open (first press leave door on latch).supposedly fixed, seems same to me

Plastic grommets missing from under passenger door.part replaced

Wiper arm rubbing on bonnet. adjusted and resprayed

So, they did nearly everything. I've got to go back for the following:

- Chipped wheel repair which they forgot
- Scratched windscreen repair (happened while car was with them/at bodyshop)
- Rear window plastic strip fitment
- New front springs to hopefully get rid of chirping noise.

Thanks everyone!

I dropped it in today. My total list was:

1) Alarm - just needs checking
2) Steering column creaks as it rubs the steering column cover

Thats it!

Nothing else! Extremely sorted car, which just shows you now thorough the PDI was.

Bugger - mine does that too. A bit of felt should solve it though.

Mine came back with half the list not sorted.

The dealer is an idiot.

My dealer is incompetent so I have decided to sort out the issues myself.

I have removed the glove box lid, cleaned off the 1/2 litre of TVR glue and stuck it back in the right place. It fits perfectly and stays closed over the biggest bumps. I also removed all the transmission tunnel trim to glue the gearbox gaiter back in place. While I was doing this I also found where to adjust the alarm sensitivity. The interesting point is that they told me it had been adjusted but the unit was set to maximum. These were all too difficult for the dealer.

Next I fixed the water washer system (two pipes unconnected) and while doing that found that all the wiper blade mechanisms were loose (will need a new wiper are as the spline is now damaged). Obviously another job too difficult for the dealer.

What else? Oh yes...I was told that they glued the roof seals in place but they look exactly the same as when I gave the car to them. The dealer must have some really amazing invisible glue. Either that or they didn't bother to do it.

If you want something doing - do it yourself.

I'd be interested in where exactly you found the alarm sensor - I undid the front of my centre console thingy and lifted it slightly, feeling as far back as I could. All I could find was foam/handbrake gubbins.

Also, tell me more about the glovebox - did you remove the black lining material and just cut the bond apart with a knife or something?

You have to take out the complete centre unit to get to the alarm. It's tricky to do. The handbrake trim needs to be removed from underneath to give you enough room to lift the centre section over the handbrake and gear stick. There are three nuts holding it in place.

The glove box lining material is held in place with Velcro so that is easy enough. Then I cut through the glue using a combination of saw blade and knife. You have to be careful so you don’t damage the surrounding trim. I found out afterwards that you could take out the complete unit. There are just the two small screws holding it in place at each end. It’s a tight fit. This makes it easier to clean the glue off the bracket and lid, I used a sanding disc in a drill to do this. I then put the lower section and bracket back in before I glued it so I could line up the lid. You need to make sure it is well forward otherwise it catches at the back when you try and open it.

Have fun!
