Hello all,

I took the plunge over the weekend and installed some larger 6x9 speakers in the Tamora (after reading all the posts on here about the subject). It was terrifying taking a jigsaw to the bulkhead!!!

Anyway, all in now but I need to tidy up the boot/carpets so I've got loads of questions some of you may be able to answer who've done it before.

1. What's the best adhesive to use to glue down all the carpets again (cabin & boot).

2. Is it best to use accoustic felt to cover the rear of the speakers - if so, where do I get this from?

3. The carpet in the boot no longer fits over the larger rear of the upgraded speakers - what should I do about this?

4. The large piece of carpet-covered plastic that covers the bulkhead in the boot (and hides the petrol pipe) no longer fits in place - what should I do about this?

5. I've bought some tweeters for the front (pioneer PS23's I think) - where's the best place to buy a crossover filter for this? (Halfords didn't have one).

6. Installing the tweeters - is there a neat way to run the cables from the headunit to where the tweeters will be installed? (ie. behind the steering wheel/glove box?

7. Anyone have any tips for removing the headunit and installing the tweeters in general ie. where does the crossover filter sit?

Thanks very much in advance for any help.

Cheers,
Jim

5. I haven't installed crossovers
6. Yes it is easy. Everything fits behind glovebox/behind and over steering wheel. It is surprising easy to fid the route.
7. see 5.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info Steven.

I'm holding off installing the tweeters as I've been told they could be damaged if I connect them directly to the headunit (as the base/mid range signals won't be filtered out).

Anyway, I'm really happy with the 6x9s although I'm still to tidy up the boot side of things. The large piece of trim (which forms the upper shelf in the boot) doesn't fit in place anymore due to the larger speakers jutting out. Might have to cut it down a bit to get it back in place.

Anyone else with 6x9s have this problem?

Cheers,
James
