If you've driven them both, you'll probably already know

I agree if you drive them both there is only 1 decision.

The T350 is the car lotus never had the balls to make.

Mind you the exige is v. cool looking. They just wimped out on the engine.... yet again. I asked lotus at the motorshow when they're going to drop the V8 into the elise chassis (it's very light and compact) but they always come back with patronising comments and look at me like I'm a power mad lunatic.

TVR have done just that. The T350 produces 350 bhp - the same as lotus's twin turbo V8.

That's british beef for you. Lotus is more like ryvita in comparison. The supercharger rumours might improve things but that will cost another £5k, pushing the price right up into T350 money...

I'm sure the Exige is a better track car, if that's what you are looking for. The T350 is a better all rounder and probably as quick as the Exige on real world roads with comfort as an added bonus.

Drive them both and decide.

I am sure that the Exige is ultimately the better handling car on track, but the T350 has the edge on performance for the simple reason it has more power which is easier to access.

If you are looking at the new Exige then its a good car, but dont forget that the Toyota engine need a real ragging to get anything out of it. Oh, and the practicality of the Exige is virtually non-existant. You have to really want a Elise or Exige to get one - not that this is a bad thing, but if you have only one car then it might be a major compromise. At least the T350 has a little more space and a boot (of sorts at least).

Both cars are RAW with a capital R and dont expect things to be simple and easy. The T350 might be easier to live with on a day-to-day basis, but if you are thinking of tracking it then the Exige has the edge on handling. Personally its no contest for me, T350 all the way, but dont really know what you are looking for and what you want to do with it.....

K.K.

Let me think... a Toyota 1.8 Gazelle or a Speed 6, 3.6, 350bhp roaring tiger??? Think you already know the answer because you are asking the question in this forum!!! Anyway, the interior of the TVR is second to none on a car of this type!

Somebody posted this answer in this forum a while back:

Lotus = scalpel
T350C = axe

That about sums it up.

Very fair assesment, you forgot to mention the handle snaps every now and then though
