Seem to be developing a bit of a gearbox problem, which I'm rather hoping does not involve me forking out for a new one...

Trying to change up into fifth, won't go without a crunch unless i hold the clutch down and wait for a few seconds first...

Anyone else had this sort of problem? And if so please tell me it didn't involve a new gearbox!!!

I believe this is a common weakpoint on the T5, not too expensive IIRC.

Had 5th gear break up on motorway on my (early model)Cerbie S6 few years ago; not dangerous but somewhat inconvenient! As Alans said, common weakpoint esp. if box was not always warmed thro' before much use (mine was an ex-demo; never again) So IMO should get it attended to before it gives up.

No, everything is always nice n' warm before any sort of action, but I guess you're right, back to the dealer...

I had it, its a clip on the synchro into 5th. My gearbox went back to Blackpool under warranty and they fixed it, but it took a couple of weeks. It will get worse if you don't get it sorted out ...
