Anyone esle suffered from this? When I back out of my drive and turn the steering wheel I hear a couple of sharp creaks (a bit like coils in MacPherson struts used to sound when grinding in their bases). the dealer reckoned they cured it by tightening a loose anti-roll bar securing bolt. It was still there afterwards but is getting more noticeable. Lately I have noticed the same noise repeating when braking hard for the first time after the reverse out of drive. Sounds like the anti-roll bar moving in a "dry" (?) bush or something. Any ideas or similar experiences anyone?

I get exactly the same thing. Never been fixed, despite repeated attempts at finding the cause. Been told;

...it could be the brake calipers/pads
...it could be the the handbrake
...it could be some part of the steering assembly catching on the chassis/body
...they all do that

you know, usual scientific stuff.

My car is back at the factory in about 6 weeks, its on the list of things to fix (again). I'll report back (unless you get it fixed before then)

It was on my list of items to be fixed when it went back to the factory as well but its still with me! Let me know how you get on and, if they cure it, what the cause was.

Thanks.

Any news on this creaking.
Mine's making a right racket when reversing with lock. It's also started to feel unstable at high speed...wondering if the two are related?

My Tam does exactly the same too!! Normally I hear it when reversing out of the garage, or full lock! odd!

It's due to go back to the dealers for the last few outstanding items, including the creaking, 2nd week of September. I'll let you know!

Have you tried a nice warm bath, (radox is very good), and I believe fish oil capsules should help too.....

Got the car back a week or two ago and they've fixed it. No noise, no creaks and just feels so much more bolted together. Don't know what the cause or the cure was but suggest anyone suffering from the same problem gets it sorted. Hexham Horseless Carriages did mine.

I am behind with the times.
I see you binned the Trevor.
What made you turn to the dark side of the force?

P.S. Claire had a little girl.
Named her Sophie Elise after where she was conceived.

Which is why couples should stay clear of buying these cars:
Citroen Xsara "Picasso"
Daihatsu "Sportrak"

Or a Vauxhall "Vectra" (social death)
