Geodosy or Radar Detector in a Tamora ??
Discussion
Just had my Origin Blue fitted to the Tuscan as part of the PDI check at Mole Valley. They wired it to the fag lighter and put the GPS receiver in the passenger side windscreen corner.
The unit sits just to the right of the stereo unit (and just left of the immobiliser socket). They kindly built (without being asked) a little box stand and covered it in matching fabric for the unit to sit on, raising it up a little further. Top guys!
Unfortunately, the speaker is just too feable to hear any of the warnings, so rely on the visual alerts. Will try and see if the speaker output can be re-directed to the stereo's speakers. Will also see about moving the unit to the right of the steering wheel, wedged between the window pillar and the gear change light unit, as this is better for observing out of the corner of your eye.
I can post some pics if anyone is interested...
Steve
PS. The unit is truly impressive...again let me know if you want more detail other than 'impressive'

Steve, I am seriously thinking about an Origin - the speed indicator, and direction arrow for the camera, swing it for me over Geodesy. I'd love to see pics of your installation, and any other info that's useful - how good is the database, does it miss cameras etc. if you want to e-mail me offline, you can do it through my profile. Cheers!
nubbin...The information that is displayed is very useful, as I've already found. Driving along a predominantly straight road, the machine gives a warning of a camera, but because the arrows point away from the straight ahead, I can ignore it. The distance to target is also a useful feature...I was driving towards Mole Valley TVR when the beeper went off...600m to go...looked ahead, couldn't see anything as there were bushes and trees all along the road. As the distance counted down, I thought it must be a false alarm, until with only a few metres to go I spot the corner of the camera behind the bushes. Now there was no way I would have spotted that. Great device.
Once I've moved it around the car to get the best location for the visual warnings, and checked whether its possible to connect the speaker to the car's stereo, I'll post a complete report plus piccies. I would thoroughly recommend it. Cannot make a judgement over the Geodesy as I haven't used one, but what made me choose the Origin was that everything you need (ie. antenna) is included in the box, and the extra information contained in the display is very useful. Plus, if you could hear the beeps in a TVR with the roof off, you'd love 'em...they get faster and more frenzied as the target comes up...great fun

just out of interest is this chatsworth day open to all or just Tamora owners? it's just that I've just taken possesion of a rather tasty sierra saphire cossa 4x4 just itching to make its race debut and as the TAMMA isn't quite run in yet? Besides for 4 bags o' sand you can't go wrong for a race day... kmow what i mean?
