Keeps Cutting Out

Coming home tonight, approached a junction, pressed clutch & engine died.

I restarted it and for some reason its seems to be ticking over around 500-550 whereas this morning it was around 700-800.

So on way home every time I approached a junction the bleeding thing would nearly or did stall (unless heel & toe all time to keep revs up).

I assume/hope its just the tickover rate that need increasing slightly ?
