engine dipstick has come unstuck

Anyone had a similar problem?
Ive just come back from a run out a went to check the oil level. On removing the dipstick the actual dipstick itself has come unstuck from the cap that screws into the oil tank. Just wondering what would be best to reattach this to the cap considering the heat load its under.

I had this as well and just glued it back. I think I used Loctite xxx, can't remember the number but it is black and very good with aluminium. I'll have a look when I get home tonight.

Just happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

Araldite sorted it or you can get a new one from the dealer for about £25.
