Searching the arhives I find some error codes, but they do not reflect what mine shows - upon starting up (since yesterday afternoon, stopping at a petrol station for a short time, but not filling with fuel BTW) I get 'EFI warning 04'. I clear it and all gauges are fine and the car is running fine, does not appear to be gulping fuel or anything odd, in fact it seems to be getting better and better the more miles I do. The message did not come back until I started up this morning, cleared it and it was fine again since (35 miles commuting to office).

Any ideas? Do I have to get a dealer to reset this? I was told to expect the odd spurious error code, but just wanted to see if anyone knew what it could have been caused by.

There a few threads about the EFI warning in the Tuscan forum. If memory serves it is also one of the FAQ's.

I had it on my Tuscan and it was a trip to the dealer to reset, I was told that is was caused by pressing the accelerator before the engine turned over. However, some have said that the EFI warning shouldn't be ignored as it can point to a Cat problem. (or something along those lines)

Hope my ramblings are of some use.

Thanks - I'd had a good look at all the results for EFI error, but hadn't looked for EFI warning (I can't remember which it says on the dash now ...).

Only 300 mile on the clock and it's running well. I'll get it attended to at the 1,000 mile service in a few weeks time unless anything suddenly starts to feel wrong.

I'll also try to keep away from the throttle pedal when starting - if this is one reason I may have tickled the pedal while turning the key - I'm not used to how quickly these engines fire yet - the V8 took a bit of cranking IYKWIM.

it may be worth having it looked at before the 1000 mile service, I have had an EFI alarm before and it was bad news, better safe than sorry
