Hi people. Ive lurked in the background for quite a while and have finally decided to seek your help. I have an early 4.0 chim which I need to upgrade. what do I do?
Im currently thinking new-ish (before the lights changed) chimaera 5.0, or tamora. Theres already a tuscan in the household, otherwise my mind would have been made - theres no point in having two. Ive driven neither, though a tamora test is coming soon. what are the plusses/minuses of both? Would it make sense, do you think if I hung about for problems to be ironed out on the tamora?
so, guys (and gals) what do you think?

Thanking you in advance.

BB

PS, sorry if all this has been addressed in previous threads - please direct me!

Simple - do you prefer the Tuscan or the Chimaera? The Tamora is a soft top, better handling , though slightly slower Tuscan, (at least to 60). It is better built than my '99 Chimarea, and most Tuscans. Get a Tamora, and get a high speed suntan. You won't regret it!

I've got a Chimaera and love it to bits but only have one because I can't afford a Tamora, Cerbera or Tuscan.

Anyway, you've had one already so why get another?

Get the best you can afford (if you like the looks of course) – and the Tamora is 'newer' technology, if that exists on a TVR

Bizz,

I have owned a Griff 500, 4.5 Cerbera and now own a Tamora. In my opinion this is the best car TVR have ever made, the handling is truly awesome. When I was deciding what to change the Cerbera for I considered the same again and a Tuscan. You can really chuck the thing around like its on rails.

You've got a point there Mikey - guess i could do with trying something different, though i will miss the sound of the v8 (the only reason really i'm considering another chim!). the styling of the tamora doesnt bother me, though i feel the interior is a little bland (as tvr interiors go). Do you guys use the tamora as an everyday car? It will be my (only) means of transport so i need for it to take a good 50/60 miles a day. Mafrost, how does it compare with your cerbera - would love one but not sure if it would be reliable enough for me to use everyday...

thanks

Have to agree with the other lads. If this car was crap it would have been my last TVR, ever. After owning a Wedge, Griff and Cerb it really is an eye opener. It's brilliant, the best built, best handling car TVR have ever built. four months and 4,000 miles later I love it more and more. Best TVR yet....

GB13690 uses his car everday, as his only transport. It is very easy to drive, once you get used to the light flywheel, but it's no problem in stop-start traffic, and it's not too noisy with hood up. the seats are a bit hard over long distances, but the clutch etc. are nice and light, NOT like a Chimaera. Most importantly, so far everything has worked without fault, and I'm nearly up to 4000 miles. If I were using it everyday, I'd buy 18" wheels for weekend posing, and use 16's day to day - slightly more comfy.

Test drove TMS's demonstrator yesterday, handling is more confidence inspiring than my cerb. Impressed by the interior, all seems to work very nicely.

buy a Tamora. apart from the engine note its vastly superior in every respect to the chim 5. and i'm splitting hairs here - have you heard the 6 at 5000+? orgasmic (and I'm not some sad git without a sex life)
