Picked up my new T350Trr in March after arranging insurance with Sunninghill Insurance Brokers. I went with them, because I liked the policy, track day cover, no need for Tracker, etc.

Took them 2 months to forward me the insurance certificate, schedule, policy and so-on. I read all the restrictions to the policy and was surprised to find that I need a Tracker fitted to the car.

After dicussions with Sunninghill, they have sent a 7 day notice of cancellation letter to me as I am not compliant with the poilcy. Also, seemingly I haven't been insured over the last couple of months!

Anyway, to cut a long story short I need to find a new insurer pronto. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would like to get fully comp cover, protected no claims and track day cover, preferrably without a tracker device.

Thanks for your help - a slightly nervous TVR owner...

I use Mannings for my T350T. No Tracker, TVRCC track day cover included. Have used Sunninghill in the past on the Cerbera.

Had a similar problem with Direct-Line and my Elise.

I declared the 135 kit and accepted their quote. When the paper-work came through it showed-
'Modifications - NONE'

I phoned to alert them to what I assumed was an admin. b*lls-up. They told me I hadn't declared the modification and owed them GBP400, but as a gesture of goodwill etc they would accept GBP200.

I told them I wasn't going to pay 'we entered into a contract with full declaration etc...'

I then rec'd the threatening 'Your insurance expires within 7 days' letter.

I told them to go and listen to the tapes (and they do all tape your calls) or we could talk via the Ombudsman.

Lo and behold when they checked the tapes, I had declared the modification.

Direct Line apologized and declared the insurance valid without any additional premium paid.

Good luck.

When I was shopping around for quotes last week Sunninghill said that as I'd said the value of the vehicle was what I was paying £39,995 that this was good as I would have needed a tracker for a value over 40k.

Perhaps you can enquire about this possible 'Tracker needed' limit?

Thanks All.

Chatted to Mannings who have come up a with good quote without the need for Tracker.

There is a 'Tracker needed' limit with Sunninghill, and I even suggested lowering my insured value to this, but apparently they wouldn't accept this within a year of it being purchased at the for new price. I didn't fully understand the logic, but the answer was no ...

Anyway, bailing out to go with Mannings. Just hope that Sunninghill do the honorable thing with the refund.
