I did it! Anybody else thinking about it or done it?

After seeing the advert, I contacted The TVR Centre and hired the car. The first person to take it out. They managed to run-in the car (it is only 3/4 weeks old) over a weekend, about 850 miles to get it ready for me. The service they offer is very friendly and professional.

The car is the business. Silver with a blue interior on 18in alloys. All I can say is AMAZING. To anybody who owns a Tamora, I am very jealous. It drives so well and that noise is about as good as it gets. My girlie even drove it!! We only had the car for a day because that's all the time we had free and I am hooked. Only problem for me is that at present I live and work in The Netherlands.

For anybody thinking about hiring it, stop thinking and do it. I promise you will not be disappointed. If I can get to a scanner I will post some photos.

Not sure that the £311 per day for the week or £940 for the week end can be justified !! nearly a grand for 800 miles max !!! that's over a £1 a mile.

I love TVR's a the TVR centre is my local dealer - i walked past it everyday as kid. But i could not justify £940, you don't even get use of a track for that !!!

umm........... you have a point there !! but if you get 800 miles (and you'd use ever last one of em too !!) at say 18mpg that 44.4 gallons @ £4.50 per gallon your looking at £198.00 in fuel, you've now spent well over a grand !!! ..... still not convinced that it's worth it

Longest test drive I've had is a Cerbera Speed six for a long weekend (four days) the cost? Bugger all, but I went to TMS..... and bought a 4.2 Cerbera three weeks later.... if you're serious about buying one any dealer worth his salt will lend you a car...

and yes, my Tamora is superb too!!!

Doesn't thefarmer say that the car had 850 miles on it when he picked it up? He doesn't say how many miles he's done?
Having said that the Tamora is SUPERB!
Cheers........ Andrew

thefarmer doesn't say how many miles he did but the TVR-Centre's rate for a weekend is 800 miles i'm guessing that he used them all - i know i would as the Tamora has a growing rep as a grin inducing motor !!

When I picked up the Tamora it had done just over 1000 miles and had had its first service a day or so before. I did 250 miles the day I had it. I would have done more but, excess miles are expensive.

Before I hired it, I did question if it was worth the money. Got to say that if I had got a pound from each person who asked a question/s, waved, or smiled on seeing the car I would have made a profit!! This car gets SO MUCH attention. Flasher and GB61390 nice cars by the way. Lucky B**gers. If you are ever in The Netherlands give me a bell!!

I just looked at the prices and it's £600 for a weekend or £1000 for the week.
