any chance of sorting that poor old bloke out with his Limited Edition Grif, he got it fired outside his house today (See postings in General Gossip)..There is strong feeling that it would be a good gesture by the factory to build him another Limited edition version with the same car number on it....Would be good for PR me thinks...

Yea, I saw that and it was on my list of stuff for Dad.
Errrm, all these little problems seem very reminiscent of the problems with the early tuscans (excluding glove box of course). When will Blackpool learn.
The Tamora may be a new car, but many components are the same. Sometimes I feel a few of them up there have the memory of goldfish.
Hope all you tamora owners are out there enjoying the sun this week. Every so often I do miss my tuscan ever so slightly, but then again Ive got a shake down test of the single seater at Goodwood to look forward to later this month along with race license in May and full racing in June.

I'm not having a dig at you, jedi, but....
My car hasn't put a foot wrong mechanically or electrically, so far. I may be lucky, but on the other hand, maybe things have been sorted. What is going on here, the faults etc., are the problems with just 3 cars, who happen to be owned by people who are prepared to air them on this website. I do not want to be part of giving the Tamora a bad reputation for reliability, an the basisi of a small sample of cars from very early in the production run. It would be nice to hear from some owners who are totally happy with their cars. Me, flasher, and gb, all love our cars, and it is that appreciation that makes us want them to be right and allow us to get them on the road, not at the dealer. Mine's been brilliant so far, except for the glovebox, which I hope the factory will fix for me. I reckon the Tamora is much more sorted than the Tuscan, because it's simpler, and has learnt a lot from the Tuscan faults - pricipally, don't over-egg the pudding!

Shame its a private company otherwise, I for one would like to take it over and make a REAL difference to the marque and improve the quality by 500%, as it really is possible.

I've taken a time out to do a spot of gardening, but I'm bored now (20 mins later!), and really, well, the car does need filling up, and err, well, maybe I need to put some air in the tyres, and, err...oh,sod it, I'm off out for a jolly!
I know what you mean about quality control - there should be dedicated engineers, fitters, upholsterers and the like, rather than 2-3 man teams working on all aspects of the car. If a single individual is responsible for the engine, shouldn't the same be true for trim , electrics etc. That way, you easily get to know who's good, and who's shite.
Having said that, I don't have the money to put wherre my mouth is going, and Mr. Wheeler, whilst his single-minded pursuit of his own ideas could be seen as a negative influence at times, you have just got to hand it to the guy - he took an ailing, shoddy car company, ploughed all his hard earned cash into it, and as a result, is building cars of spectacular performance, amazing looks, and cars that compare in some ares with the best of Porsche and Ferrari, yet we can afford 'em. I don't know about you, but I am perpared to take a few little niggles, to get a dream car like a TVR, because if it weren't for Mr. Wheeler, there is no way I could now go to my garage, and drive a fantasy machine like the Tamora, or a Tuscan, or whatever. Long may it continue, PW knows how to run a business, otherwise TVR would have gone to the wall a long time ago. Think about the future - there will be a time, not too long from now, when the cars produced by TVR will be just as good as a Porsche. They may cost Porsche money, but hey, you get what you pay for with TVR!

I had a factory tour, to see my car in build, a few weeks ago and this is how it works. There are people doing dedicated jobs.
I think it used to be, for the final assembly of the car anyway, that it was done in some 'circular' fashion that made quality control/accountability a bit difficult.
They now have a number of lines (named after British racing circuits if I remember rightly) and it's now easy to track if any particular line/team, etc. isn't up to scratch and thus take action.
My car was worked on by the Gary Newman(sp?) fan.

Flasher: Dad reckons its the exhaust vibrating against the heat sheild. The dealer should be able to sort this.

Yes, that has helped, but the lines may be better used as lines for individual jobs e.g. one line to put in and connect the running gear, one line for trim, one for electrics etc. The more you do one job, the better you get at it. Instead, the lines will have people on them who are very good at hoods, or whatever, but not so good on connecting up the dash. Those who are best at each job, should do it all the time.

Define heat-shield for me? It's definitley not the black cover at the rear of the car....
I'll get on to the dealers though and thanks a lot..
