Dave - I'm gonna have a look at one tomorrow in Edinburgh too. Did you pay full price? What are your thoughts on the car?

IF YOUR GOING TO SEE THE ONE AT BELMONT(SEAFIELD)ASK
FOR STEPHEN SQUIRES.AS TO THE CAR ITS SELF MY ONLY MINUS POINT IS THE GEARBOX,FOUND IT A BIT VAGUE.
BUT AS MY CURRENT CAR{ACCORD COUPE 3.0 V6}IS AN AUTO
I MUST BE PRETTY MUCH TO BLAME FOR THAT.
AS TO THE PRICE £28,650 NOT AWARE OF ANY DISCOUNTS
ANYWHERE.

Nah!! Silver would be a second for me, I've just had the use of a Devil Yellow Monaro for 4 days. Enjoyed it very much and averaged 20mpg!! Not bad considering.

If you want to see a silver one in the flesh, Underwoods in Colchester have one as a demo.

Also saw the VXR when I was at Vauxhall (HSV GTO), very nice.

Well it certainly stands out, and is ideal for promotional purposes. I don't know, but I think you might get tired of other motorists looking at you all the time, and it might be a bit harder to sell on eventually.

I agree, Lotus Carlton

The Yellow is one of the best Colours ! I also like the Cosmo Metallic (or Purple to most people)But the uk are not ready for these colours yet.

Yes the car will stand out, but thats the Idea !, Your not driving a ROVER now !

The uk needs to liven up a bit and get some Colour into this place.

HOLDEN
Drive On !

Would that be the Rover that Auto Express just placed above the Monaro? Ooh, I'm a stirrer...

Well finally got round to looking at the silver one at Seafield. I'll just paste what I posted on a similar thread on Scoobynet.

"Had a test drive in a standard Monaro today. Nice big comfy cruiser, lovely seats, excellent suspension, good to drive. What's wrong with it? Doesn't feel that fast, not like an M5 does. Build quality outside was nothing short of shocking for any car, let alone a near £29k car. Some really poorly aligned panels, several gaps were out by 2 or 3mm, bad paint under the bonnet, boot etc. some rust coming through the paint under the bonnet Maybe a result of being on a boat from Aus for 3 months.
I liked it overall, but it needs tuning/more power and the VXR is too expensive, and that build quality put me right off. Pointed out all the above to dealer and said I would have rejected the car they showed me if it turned up like that. He didn't really have an answer. I wanted to like this car, and I do, but can't spend that kind of money on such poor quality"

I don't want to p1ss on anyone's chips here as it's a bloody great car, different to anything on the road. I would have ordered if it wasn't for the above issues. That and the derisory trade in offer for my existing car. Hopefully that one at Seafield is a one-off. If it wasn't a brand new car I'd have said it had been in a shunt and badly repaired.

Not unknown actually. My Dad had a brand new car and when the sun shone, it was clear they'd sprayed a wing and a door (it was Vermilion)which must have happened prior to delivery. I suppose getting a car from Australia has it's pitfalls. In general, the Monaros I've seen have looked reasonable in the quality department.
