I have been told I have it installed, but its stuck on what I guess is quiet. I see there is a black switch behind T/C, pressing is does nothing to the exhaust note.

sounds like the butterfly valves are stick.. some times you can get away with some WD40 and a smash but gently..

Have a look just in front of the rear silencer where the exhaust joins it and make sure the valves are in there and its not just got the plates in, you should also be able to see the wires for them.

Will do when I am back in the country.

How does the mechanism work? Is it hydraulic?

Electric motors open and close a flap, trouble is unless you use them VERY regularly, they stick and require stripping down to free off, can seize up in just a couple of weeks if not used, PITA, prefer the manual way myself, he he he, just keep em on LOUDbiggrinyes

Here's what the valves look like -

They can just give up, even with regular use. Mine took out the controller too.

Mine got switched a few times a week if not daily and still gave out.

It's on the list for my next service with the fish, Im hoping them sorting it out is a freebie in the service.

The switches come from the manufacturers in the USA with a 4 year warranty. www.dmhperformance.com/

Not usually any problem getting them swapped under warranty.

Easy to strip and re-build the flap plates. It does take time though as you strip out everything and pack it all again once cleaned up with high temp grease. Mine worked better than new after I finished doing it! smile

Hint - drop of the rear box totally so you can work on it on off the car, saves alot of effrot as I found out with the second one I did!

Funny enough, Tiler says Wortec re-specced the bearings.

I presume it's better to keep them "parked" in the open position? Do they seize in the bearings or because the butterflies get stuck to the edge of the housing?

considering how much these things cost and how many failures occur I am so glad I decided not to get them on mine
