I've just had a big service done which I changed the plugs (AC Delco) and put on some MSD 8.5mm HT leads.

Clucking bells what a difference. Don't know if the cleaner air filter contributed, but the engine is so much more responsive.

It runs smoother, sounds better, accelerates harder.

The car has 48k on. If you haven't already changed plugs then do so and try some quality leads.

Oh and yes, the squeak has gone. New idler pulley fited. The old bearing definately had some give. So all be aware. The sides of the old belts were not worn - so no miss alignment. Fingers crossed all will be quiet

being a bhp junky you make sacrifices...

Running a HSV in the UK is no different to another sports car. The fact that its big fits our purpose of a family car

Petrol is about £3.50 (£1 = about $2.3Aus). People are amazed over here how many mpg we get - 29 crusing and about 25 mixed.

Insurance is the other big cost in the UK. It was £700 / year until I rolled the Chevy - then it went up £300

Fingers crossed parts prices from the UK Importer (LindenSV)have been fine and Linden is very helpful. Specialist parts - who knows!!!! The plug leads I got from the USA when I had the chevy and were cheap!!!

As for reliability-fingers crossed. Holden claim they are being for big miles. Regualr service should look after them. I've had a pulley replace - but thats common to LS1'a. Other problems are common to HSV VT2 which I am sure you know about.

The nice thing is they are rare over here - very rare
