Ok, so I only recently realised that an HSV is the car I always wanted, but now I've got to have one. I'm about to take a look at the GTS for sale at Jason Barkers. It's number 014, supercharged and claiming 510 bhp. Do any of you chaps out there in HSVland know any of its history? Whose it was? Who has worked on it? etc. Also anything I should look out for when looking it over.
Any advice would be great. I look forward to being an HSV owner and meeting some of you soon.

Hi,
As most of the supercharged HSV were converted by www.lindenspecialvehicles.com/ I would give them a call to see if they can help!
It is good to make contact with them as they will be your first port of call if you need to buy any bits.
as for things to look out for:-
1.noise from gearbox - fixed by overfilling the box
2.rattle from gear stick - lots of ways to fix
3.whine or knock from diff - might just need oil but be carefull as it can cost alot.
4.this is a bit hard to find out but make sure it does not use to much oil as this could mean a rebuild!!
to date the problems reported are small so you should find a good car which has been looked after but make sure you have all the HSV extras like owners documents, owners compartment with tools (in centre console) a alloy spare, as this will show the owner had some pride in the car.
one other thing it will need paint on the front or it will have been done in the recent past as they pick up stone chips very, very fast.
Hope to see you in your HSV at the next meet.
