Was wandering about the internet when I came across your website, and was surprised to say the least! I cant believe you guys actually imported these things over there, and am also a bit stunned at what you pay for them (almost M5 money...)
Here in Oz, Holdens are generally viewed by most (except the die hard holdenhead rednecks who tend to be not the brightest sparks about) as a cheap alternative to the real thing from Europe - Opels discontinued platform with an outdated Buick V6 slapped together locally. Good for company reps, taxis, taking the kids to school.
The HSVs do a credible job given what they are given to work with, but is ultimatly let down by the base car. I do speak from experience, having had several as work hacks. I am glad to get back in my Euro car afterwards.
Having said all that, it is pretty cool to know a few of these things are kicking about Europe. How are they received by euro car enthusiasts in Europe?
And how the hell do afford to run the things?!! - I was shocked at petrol prices when I toured Europe a few years ago, 3 times our prices.

ofrog - hello down there.
Well the HSV are met with great interest in UK. They are a rare site and have a good review from the UK press. So they are pretty well respected.
As for taxi - stop the fare please.
Running them is not different to other V8 cars in UK, Merc, BMW Jag to name a few. Besides the LS1 returns fuel consumption almost comparable to seom 2.0l 4 pot engines!!!!! So for HP junkies, its not sacrifice.
Great to hear from you - maybe a good contact for posting parts??

Hi there, I have the same opinion in that these cars in NZ are secondary to similar spec european cars, I don't know what the reason is, but in terms of build quality it dosent rate that well here either.
Well these lovely looking cars are 100% cheaper maintenance wise and more reliable than my Lotus
Welcome to PH
