I used to have this fitted on my 300hp Fiat Coupe and it worked pretty well, especially the launch control. Does it work on the Monaro or will wider rims/tyres work better?

VXR DAZ has a racelogic TC fitted to his Ro so maybe ask him for some feedback.

Racelogic is fine but the launch control is far too hard on the transmission IMO.

Seems to do what it says on the tin, you can definely feel it working in the wet, as for launch control I will let you know after Saturdays RWYB if the weather is good, and I am brave enought to try it.

Giz a go mister, IL try it for ya! biggrin

Seriously though id be interesated in the results as my times were done just driving off the line... be interesting if you can improve by using as much power as possible all the way through first and second without ending up spinning up and not alot else happening.

I'd be interested too. The cost of fitting it (£1500) is about the same as new wheels and tyres. I'm not sure how much difference an extra 3cm of rubber on the back will make, but I guess sod all?

I got it..and tried it once, you`ll kill something, honest.

Do you mean if I use launch control something will break? Surely that has nothing to do with the system, it's what happens if you dump the clutch at 4k rpm? Assuming it's set up correctly and you feed the clutch in it will limit wheelspin off the line better than an inch of extra rubber?

It doesn't limit wheelspin off the line, it just makes it easier to hold constant revs on the throttle while you control the torque on the clutch. Once it has dropped out of 'launch' mode it controls wheelspin for you by clipping the engine power, but there is no possible way for it to do this during the launch phase while the clutch is slipping.

Sorry, my memory is a little rusty. And when does it decide it's out of launch mode and into traction control mode, when the car is moving? All I do remember from my system was it was a damn site better at putting the power down than I was. I only had 300hp but it was front wheel drive, had 205 tyres and the chassis from a fiat Tipo - in the wet it was useless without TC.

To be honest I don't remember, it has been a few years since I saw the configuration options. I have an idea it was when the percentage slip on the driven wheels dropped below a threshold, plus the speed on the undriven wheels above a threshold.

Anyway, it is basically a secondary rev limit - it makes it easier to get a good launch, but it doesn't do everything for you.

If you want 500+hp pulsing through your std drivetrain looking for grip fill your boots.
Its like a hammer drill.
FT= Fighting Torque.

This is what the Manual states; to me it reads the system will contol wheelspin and RPM.
sorry about the size and quality, ctrl+ for bigger Ctrl- for smaller

So does the TC work out in practise on these cars, I know some of you guys have it but don't talk about it much? All I want is more grip and I don't think wider tyres will help that much. My new monster should have 600+ rwhp and I'd like to put some of it on the road.

TC is awesome wet or dry and I`d say its a must as that much Whp with a valley blower will deffo catch you out.

If you want quick away your only real option is lighten the car considerably and get more rubber on the road.

Racelogic launch control can`t work miracles.

3.9.1 diff and 2nd gear launch control is brilliant, and for wet weather driving its really good for not killing the engine, one monaro driver told me he had a blow out at 90 mph and He recons the racelogic saved hiss ass.Haven't done Many launches, bit apprehensive now.

I can't see how cutting the ignition or injectors can help with a blow out!!

RLTC is a fantastic piece of kit (I need to convert mine to adjustable)but it can't help with momentum!
