Guys I'm thinking of a GTS-R, the supercharged one. Two years old, 8000 miles, in Black with Black and red leather. A memeber of my family has it. What's it worth?

Ring Mark at LSV on 01604 766586 he'll be able to give you a good idea. (Allegedly) the 'R's are holding up pretty well with people looking to trade up (well I would say that wouldn't I!) and being the supercharged jobby would make it even rarer....Sod it, buy it anyway. Maybe you wouldn't mind E mailing with it?
Cheers.

Just take it for a ride and then you'll know how much its really worth.

Like sjc said try Mark, he probably did the blower.

Yeah it had an £8k supercharger conversion done to it or something. Apparently 530 bhp. It goes ok, just no idea what it is worth. So what makes it an 'R'. Is it the Calloway engine?

I did e-mail Mark but it bounced because his mail box was full.

I only have limited knowledge of the HSV's as I have only owned one for a short time, but I believe the GTS R is the Callaway tweaked engine which without blower is 401HP. The GTS R is the same as the GTS in Oz (note the GTS is the Clubsport R8 in Oz).

I think the GTS R has mulitlink suspension, different trim in side, better breathing and a different cam. Not sure what else Callaway did with the LS1???

Nice car though.

I wouldn't like to put a value on the car without seeing it, but a supercharged GTS-R is a real rarity (there are only 14 Rs in the UK anyway, and most are not supercharged). If you like the car you should snap it up if the offer appears reasonable/affordable.

Jagsy is it right, with a few other bits like climate instead of air, little bits of trim, (all were black with red leather)and various big and little tweaks to take it from 340 to 410bhp. There have been a couple of roadtests done on the supercharged ones (top gear being one, absolutely loved it, 0-100 in a about 10 secs I recall). I might be wrong, but I seem to remember the 530BHP figure being for the supercharged GTS, the GRS-R may possibly be higher. As you run a tuning company, how about this being your next project?

I do very much like the car, I just don't want to offend a relative with a low ball offer.

Tim, the Supercharger was apparently done by a Company in Northampton, which I assume is LSV. The car is a black one and lives in Cornwall. It had an ERL water injection kit fitted with the conversion. Ring any bells?

Tuning...mmmmm I am trying to get away from throwing my money at my cars. The Holden appeals to me as it should be pretty reliable. What I would really like is a 550 bhp car that I can run on optimax. My current car has more power than this, but I am constantly worried it's on the limit, and spend half the time running Toluene in the tank.

TIA guys

I could be talking totalbut my guess is that Tim/Mark would aim (assuming it's A1) to sell that car for between 40K/42K (it would have been about 58K new probably). Of course they would be doing a warranty in that price and their own margin etc. I'm sure a little while back they had a similar car for about 45k. But as I said I could be talking
At the end of the day it's what someone is willing to pay for it,but whatever I don't think you'll ever be dissapointed in it.

Cheers SJC. I know he received a pitance for his 1 year old GTS when upgrading to a GTS-R.

If I don't like it, would it be easy enough to sell on ?

Obviously regards selling on because it is so rare the market isn't a huge one but then again thats part of the appeal for many. Owners seem fairly loyal to the marque and quite a few appear to be on their second one. It will depreciate but then again not at the same alarming rate as an M5! Your man must have a figure in his head and if it's not too much above £35K ish as a private sale I think it's time to grab his arm off!
On me hols tommorrow for two weeks hope to come back and find another owner amongst us.
