My RX7 isn't a "Mazda Rotomotion" it is still an RX7, with mods done by the Rotomotion workshop.
Hi I realise that, but capa change everything about the car including the Vin plate the car is on the log book as a Capa f-320 Holden is not mentioned but it helps me identify the car. It was originally a Holden Calais and Capa take it off the production line and re work the whole car.
The vin plate chassis number is 000000001 making it the only one. capa have a web site in Australia i suppose its a little like AMG is to Merc. There is a few people that know all about this Mark and Rapid and Roger at Monkfish has seen the car. Call the car whatever on the log book its a Capa F-320 and on the vin plate Underneath all the changes it is a Holden Calais.

I think Capa used to do a lot more than just mod cars but maybe they dont anymore. Iirc, LSV imported a few CAPA cars as they were not liable to the strict tests that HSV's couldn't pass at the time. The reason being that HSV produced in excess of a certain of no. of vehicles and as such were liable to these tests.
However, CAPA were seen as a manufacturer in their own right & produced less cars than whatever the no. was and as such were not subject to these tests.
I think Brabus are also seen as a manufacturer, despite the obvious use of Merc. donor car.
So it would be correct to call the car a CAPA. Of course very few people would have heard of a CAPA, so it's easier to call it a Holden CAPA. Just as the press used to refer to HSV's as Holden HSV's. Which of course would really mean Holden Holden Special Vehicles.

I have seen an old ad for a Ford Ute over there that runs on Gas called something other than a Ford Falcon ute. It has the Ford badges removed and some other badge put on it.
A57 HSV reason sounds very reasonable to me. Am I right in saying all the Holden badges were removed from it?
Never heard of CAPA? I've heard of Rotomotion!!! There was another Mazda shop in Guildford (the Perth kind) can't remember it's name.

I'm not looking for an argument, but you can't call it a "Holden Capa"! The name might be well known in Melbourne (or where ever they are?) but not in Perth. I'm not suggesting they don't exist , just that they appear to me to be a tuning workshop. The website www.capa.com.au shows capa to stand for centrifugal air pumps australia.Then I guess they dont exist.

Maybe, the pic. of the car is too small to see the livery in detail. To find out more about the CAPA cars that were imported from Aus., you'd need to hear from LSV or Mark Frisby who now runs RapidGB.
Other than seeing the cars & knowing that CAPA sell loads of tuning mods. etc., I don't know anymore than I've said. Maybe they only produced the full cars for U.K import?

I was being serious honest, I couldn't remember the name. I remember passing it on my way to work. It is 8 years since I lived in Perth but I have a memory like a selective Ox!!

I think you are the money again, over here they would be badged as CAPA enhanced maybe. I haven't seen any. CAPA are quite well known as they produce a lot of supercharger kits and other performance parts. There is/was another bunch of cars built from Holdens called CSV's. They were more out there than HSV's (personal opinion here). Fairly rare nowadays.
Back to the original question, it would probably have all the mods that a lot of people do to their cars anyway, like the exhaust,tune, brakes, suspension etc so in effect would be equal or better than a HSV depending on which parts CAPA put on the car. I know that last statement will upset people, however in oppostion to that, its resale might not be as good as the HSV's. That would generally be the case in Oz.
Thinking about it though, I guess there are only a few CAPA's over there, so they might be more exclusive and thus hold their value, I don't really know.
