Help with door handles

Hi, last year I managed to score a pair of Omega door handles complete with op-rods. I've repainted them and decided to fit them whilst the weather is dry.
Drivers side went on very easily and operating perfectly, I didn't even have to adjust the rod.
However, passenger side has got me stumped. With the Omega rod I'm way too short for the plastic adjuster to sit in the hole of the lock mechanism? Even all the way out I'm still not seating.
I tried swapping the screw on adjuster from the plastic handles, still no joy, even swapped the rods around, Monaro one is too long so put everything back as it was.
I was sold two front handles from the Omega, does anyone by chance know by looking at my enclosed photo's if the passenger side looks correct or I have maybe been sent a rear door handle (different style rod maybe)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if these pictures are the actual ones that fit or from another vehicle. Looks like the Commodore ones are the same.

Looks like you've been sent the wrong rod on the passenger side one.
I have done this mod, don't remember having any issue, and I'm a simple man.

Check this thread, page 1, first post and look at the rods he bought to fit his....different to your passenger side.

Thanks Guys, looking at the thread it does indeed look like the wrong length, shape of lock rod that I have on the handle. Looks like I may have received a rear handle in error but as it's over a year since purchase and I've painted it I'll hunt down a correct lock rod and hopefully have both metal handles fitted sometime in the future.
I must add, the feel of the fitted drivers handle is far more satisfying than the cheap feeling plastic ones.

Here are the two offending items side by side. My Omega rods fitted just fine ( 04 Cv8 ) the pull on the handle is a but less to open now.
I did these in 2019, the Omega handle is the shiny one.

I've managed to snag the correct lock rod from a seller on EBay.
Checked, double checked and triple checked the sellers photo's and dimensions. Hopefully have it in hand by the weekend and weather forecast looks good so hopefully I'll have two nice shiny metal handles fitted.

On a side note, that is if I'm permitted to do so. I would like to say a huge thanks to carpaintsonline (EBAY)
Over the last couple of years they have supplied me with countless paint and sanding accessories.
If you're handy with a rattle can and in need of small items repainting I'd highly recommend them, colour match is nigh on indistinguishable from factory. I have used them for both the Monaro and our daily Qashqai with excellent results.
I've added a few photo's of the fuel filler door and door handle that I painted in my garage for reference.

Yes, I'm by no means a professional and did take me a few cans and sanding due to runs and dust nibs but I have now gotten it down to an acceptable level. Just wished my garage was a little less draughty .
Mostly it's down to the product and the spray nozzle which has a fantastic nice wide pattern. Like most things, practice makes perfect.

Whilst the bumper was off due to me fitting the new power steering cooler and having a can of paint left over i tidied up the front, had rust starting to bubble up in and around the spot welds and on the crash bar (whatever it's called) and the bottom panel where all the plastic under body panels screw to.

Well took less than two minutes.
Passenger side metal door handle fitted, just one turn on the plastic adjuster and all snug. Tried the door lock/handle around 20 times to confirm correct fitment with no issue. Paint colour is nigh on distinguishable from factory so I'm extremely chuffed.

I was very pleased with this modification too. A strangely satisfying & simple upgrade.

I would love to get these metal door handles for my 2004 Monaro. Alas, I'm sure if I tried to purchase from overseas and import them to Australia it would go very wrong.

If I remember correctly I paid around £25 for the pair last year.
Usually pop up individually on EBAY, anything from around £10-£45 each

Excuse my ignorance, but was it the Omega that also came with plastic versions of these door handles? On lower end models I assume. So, there was a risk if you ordered you would end up with the same version of the door handles you already had on the Monaro?
