As a potential new owner of a Monaro or VXR8 am I likely to face issues with parts supply or specialist support? Are parts easy to source these days?

Compared to a mainstream car yes there a problem you won't be just popping to the dealer for parts nor the motor factors. Vauxhall have never supported the cars satisfactorily and is now non existent. Motor factors try to sell you parts for a van but if you research and cross-reference part numbers some generic parts are available. There are a few specialist suppliers that all do a sterling job and stock commonly needed parts or source the less common ones.
Rockauto.com are a good source of mechanical parts from the pontiac gto and g8 family and delivery from the USA is excellent though not all parts are like for like for the American Market cars so research part numbers again .
But don't let it put you off as there simple beasts

Don't be trying to daily drive one. Everything is available, but most parts are now import.
