Hi All, I need to replace the hard brake lines on the Monaro. The offside rear has finally given up. Could anyone tell me the size of pipe and fittings needed.

2004 Monaro VXR LS1. (Big boot, flat bonnet)

Many thanks

Jamie.

Standard 3/16 brake pipe and m10 fittings as far as I know.
Also I believe sstubes.com in the states now do a kit of pre bent factory finish pipes for the 04 gto cars
(Previously they only did 05> cars which are different)
Fuel lines worth doing at the same time as there routed together.
I fitted the 05> kit in stainless all pipes fitted perfectly apart from the lhd master cylinder pipes obviously.
As I don't own a 04 car you should check the 04 kit is correct for yourself if you choose to go that route.
Shipping was fast and painless.

Yep, standard M10 fittings and 3/16 pipe for the ABS to 4 corners hard lines.

The 2 from the master cylinder tot he ABS module are the next size up (5/16 is it? I forget) and are an M12 fitting, you'll struggle to find that if you can't reuse your existing ones so.

I replaced all of mine with kunifer lines, nice and easy to bend and can use a hand tool to flare it (I could not hand flare the factory stainless lines as it just slipped no matter how tight it was clamped (even 'snapped off a bolt head' tight hehe )

Thanks lads for the info it's much appreciated. Does anyone know if the flare is SAE or DIN?

Cheers.

I would say din remembering that it's the fitting as much as the shape of the pipe . (6.0 vxr 05 car as example . Would assume 04 cars are the same)

Perfect thanks mate. That looks like DIN to me, thanks for the heads up with the fittings.
