Just wondering what you guys reckon the best short shifter is these days?

Is the Ripshift still king?

I’ve heard mixed reports about the B&M, while GTO owners seem to rave about the MGW-P.

I think most people still rate the Ripshift highly. Although the price is pretty eye watering these days.

Does anyone in the UK have any experience with the MGW? It seems to get absolutely rave reviews in the US.

I've got the b&m, had it for 8 years and never had any issues. Think there were quality problems with the earlier ones but that's long gone.

Lots of copies of a Rip shifter about now, as not hard to copy because not a complicated piece of machining.

Yeah, I see you can pick some of them up for as little as £65 now eek

What is the quality like on the copies?

I’ve heard a couple of people say they had to make some modifications to the Cube version to improve it.

The more reviews I read about the MGW the more intrigued I am.

B&M crap acction compared to rippy.

The cube copy was good, but they didnt (still dont?) do the version to suit the use of the stock facttory isolator.

Without it, its hit and miss if the knob rattles.

Going rate for a Rip Shift these days seems to be £400+?

Any UK stockists any more?

I quite like mine. Not as short maybe but I like the longer throw and the gearboxes themselves are a bit crap.

I like my b and m too , im not saying the rip is not better , but it came to budget 190£ delivered v over 400 £ , the b and m is a very good upgrade on a standard shifter and not the 4 th to reverse issue eeekkk

Another happy B&M user here for over a decade, vast improvement over stock. I had always planned a Ripshifter but the fish were out of stock at the time so ended up with what was available .. think I got it from AAS in Newcastle.

But ive no idea why. Id say, from memory, the B&M is the shorter throw..
