That looks like a lovely car, I would be all over it if I had the storage space. As for the price I really think it’s a bargain.
I bet you would be shocked at what these go for in Australia, I bet you could easy get the equivalent of £45k.

yes they are a bargain compared to oz .. but the 5.5 amg supercharged Mercedes are becoming a better bargain and easier to maintain

parts and specialists mechanics are obviously easier in Oz

Are front and rear bumper lines at the lights all as bad as that ?

The front bumper on mine isn’t any better, but it has been removed a couple of times for paint and additional rust protection, the clips at the end tend to break.
I’ve also removed the rear bumper twice for paint and rust protection, but I’m sure the alignment is a bit better on my car.

I’ve bought from Matthewsons before, they are a pleasure to deal with.

Judging by the MOT history, I would factor in the cost of replacing the brake lines if they haven’t been done already.

quite a while ago i spoke to Topcats and Walkinshaw about getting the fuel and brake lines done on my 04 monaro , it was more preventative as a lot of the lines are not easily visible , a few years ago it was 1300£ to do all of them plus braided lines , so i would expect around 2 k now , Walkinshaw stated they had seen some really poor repairs/ replacements , id rather pay more and get a good job done , if i had ramps i would probably done it myself as i did my kit car lines , i think it was nickel copper so they will last , even a rear oil seal change has gone from around 350 ish inc parts a few years ago , to now 450 not including parts

No mention on engine tuning but that's not a stock air filter.

Monaro be it vxr or cv8 is a simple car to work on-the rear brake pipe setup is similar to that on bmw 3 series-some garages get away with charging what they want-often with no difference in quality of workmanship -thats why they have a big set up and pay their directors etc big wages-a brake pipe will always be safe as long as its secured/routed correctly with a decent flare -as i said the nsf is a tad nippy, compounded on some cars by having a supercharger which restricts where your digits can reach

along time ago i know-but when i was a lad it was a quid a foot fitted -those were the days...

Seems fair price (if the underside is good). Where are the underneath shots? Needs a check for rot. Mine looks ok on top but its starting to go underneath (and its on 49k miles on the clock)
