Good morning!

I was asked this last night and realised that firstly i'd never thought about it before, and secondly i dont know the difference! is there any do you know?

Also, im toying with lowering the suspension, but the places ive looked at are coming in at around £1700-£2000! Is this the normal going rate for springs & shocks supply only on a Monaro? In the past for this sort of set up ive only ever paid around £700 max for koni's or similar, any suggestions of brands or retailers which are best on a supply only basis?

Cheers,

Mike

Try whiteline suspension in Oz.
Full kit for less than $2000 Oz.

www.whiteline.com.au/docs/fact_sheets/CK_Pontiac_GTO.pdf

Probably end up better than the VXR. You can buy the kit in degrees from basic to track level.

If you are going to Silverstone, can go into detail on a few set ups adjustable and non adjustable.

ringram,

Dont suppose you know how that works do you? the document seems to quote the overall spring height, not how much the cars lowered by?? How would i work out the lowering height? do you know a standard spring height to compare??

$908 for stage II is awesome price (£400)

Still does anyone know if CV8 & VXR have same suspension atall??

Cheers,

Mike

Hmm, not sure, but an email or call to them will almost certainly result in the answer. They can also advise on shipping to the UK.
Let me know what you find out. Im over there next month and might fill my bag up with parts.

CV8 and VXR suspension different. VXR is a HSV set up.

Diff springs and dampers.

Mine is lowered, has adjustable fronts, set for fast road & track, coilover system plus new suspension bushes, all fitted by LSV and supplied by Starr Performance from Oz.

A totally awesome mod, the car now handles like a smaller lighter car and is very compliant at speed over rough surfaces, camber, holes etc., but jumpy at slow speed over irregular surfaces. Change the camber set up and it really does take the car to a new dimension.

As good a mod as the AP 6 pots and possibly more impressive than a supercharger IMAO The VXR is an HSV spec & the Monaro a Holden spec, had lowered suspension, stiffer shocks to a higher spec than HSV that did not impress.

Not really answering your question but as stated
