Nice red VXR8 on autotrader with only 20,000 miles. Sounds too good to be true. Could this be the best car on the market right now??

Now I’m sure it is one of the best VXR8’s that WAS on the market biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
Just took a trip to north Ireland and bought it.

It’s in red just hit 20,000 miles and is immaculate. Very different to the Monaro which I’m still not selling laugh

I’ll get some more pics along with the Ro when I get home. Payment transfer took forever so I’ve missed my ferry need to wait till 8 o clock now for next one. Small problems like that don’t matter when you’ve just picked up a cherry red ozy V8 cloud9

Went out for a run with my brother in both the VXR8 and the cv8. Very surprised at how well the Monaro kept up with the R8 ( it does have ap’s and a full wortec exhaust with headers and suspension upgrade also back seats are out to get restiched. Little bit of weight reduction lol ) and how good it still looks and sounds on the road evil

First time I’ve seen my own car while someone else was driving it.

Congratulations! What a nice fleet you have, the VXR8s look SO GOOD in red witht he big wing in the back smile
The previous owner of my Monaro also had a red VXR8 Bathurst Edition (non-supercharged, automatic, LS3) in his fleet.
Unsure about mileage, but I remember it was in a truly stunning condition.

Can you give us a little backstory and details on your VXR8? Does is have any mods?

Both cars looking stunning there! Both looking menacing!
Whats your wheel and tyre spec on the Monaro? Do you have any clearance/rubbing issues? I was always under the impression that you had to stay very close to standard or rubbing inside and outside occurs?

I was very impressed with the red when I seen it in the flesh it really does stand out.

The car was on its 3rd owner so I’m the 4th. Was owned previously by lynne in Northern Ireland. She wanted to sell because it had hardly turned a wheel in about 5 years ( it had only done 700miles or so since 2017 and had been stored inside ) she really wanted it to be enjoyed and I promised her I would enjoy it biggrin Before it belonged to two a couple of v8 Vauxhall enthusiasts. One of which was an NI- Vaux member on Facebook. It’s got the embossed logo stitched on the boot carpet and plenty discreet stickers here n there to prove this biglaugh

I few monkfish stickers aswell. Since it had a few jobs done there over the years.
Stainless steel cat back exhaust with sport cats and suspension upgrade. The sound off the exhaust is just perfect but I think the Monaro beats it on loud shoutyness lol.

Oh yeah and it’s an ls2 manual.

The Monaro has 19in alloys only reason they are on there is because the original cv8 wheels that I really liked wouldn’t fit over the ap brakes I got fitted.
But your right about the rubbing not on the outside which I’m surprised about because you would struggle to slide a fiver in the space between wheel and wing but you sometime hear a small rub on the inner plastic if your taking a tight turn or come to the bottom of hill at speed. Oh yeah and the wing was rolled slightly to help they wheels get along with the arch better rotate
